I honestly thought this picture was so cute idk why. It kinda has something to do with the chapter anyway so...
Enjoy!
~~Ashley POV~~
"Steady," Hunter said as I held onto his arms for balance.
Hunter was trying to teach me to skateboard. I told him that I didn't know how and he insisted that he teach me and I just couldn't say no. I thought it would be fun.
I was wrong.
The only one having fun was Hunter and that was only when I fell on my butt and he started laughing.
He slowly pushed me as I wobbled a bit. A few seconds later he started to let go. When he had completely let go I started to shake back in forth. I waved my arms around in an attempt to find balance.
I didn't find balance.
Instead, I fell straight down on my butt. "Ow..." I groaned standing up.
"Ashley! Do you have a boo-boo?" he asked and I frowned. What was he playing at? "Because, I could kiss it for you..." he winked and I rolled my eyes. There it was.
"Whatever," I said. "I'm trying again."
I placed the board flat on the ground and put my foot on the board. I pushed off and for a few seconds I wobbled and held my arms out like a bird.
Then, I started gliding ina straight line all on my own. "Yes!" I shouted as I hopped off the board and threw my arms in the air. "I finally did it! Ha, I told you I would be able to do it!"
As I walked up toHunter he rolled his eyes and smirked. "Nice job there, sweetheart."
"Well, thank you for teaching me how to skateboard," I replied winking.
He scoffed. "I didn't have much of a choice. You just came out here, took my board, and demanded that I teach you so..."
I rolled my eyes, "Whatever."
We weren't aware that we were standing in the middle of the road until we heard a loud honk.
Our heads shot up to see a big pickup truck racing towards us and not slowing down.
I froze on the spot. It was coming for me and my legs wouldn't move! Move dammit!
Luckily, Hunter recovered quickly and he scooped me up bridal style and ran over the edge of the road just as the truck zoomed past us.
We were both breathing heavy but Hunter seemed surprisingly calm seeing as we almost just became roadkill.
I realized that I still had my arms wrapped around Hunter's neck. Strangely, I didn't want to move the. But if I stay any longer then he'll think that I like him and then I'll lose the dare!
Before I could drop my hands Hunter set me down and looked around as if I was never in his arms.
"Who was that?" I asked with a small, confused voice.
He shook his head. "Some jackass."
"Uh," I start awkwardly, "Thanks for saving me, I guess."
He turns to me with an odd expression on his face. He frowned for a moment before he answers. "Yeah whatever."
He picks up his skateboard and walks up into his house and slams the front door behind him.
My brow furrows as I walk back up into my house trying to figure out what just happened.
He acted totally emotionless. Did he not care that he just saved my life? Do I care that he saved my life? Well, of course, I care but I certainly don't care that he was the one to do it.
I hop onto my bed and turn on my TV and start up Netflix. I decide to rewatch some episodes of Friends and as I'm watching one of the Thanksgiving episodes I get a text.
I reach for my phone and frown when I see who the text is from. It was some random number with fewer digits than usual, kind of like the numbers that text you to tell you that you've gone over your data plan.
The text said: Hey stranger.
"Who is this?" I typed back.
You don't know me, but I know you.
I think you have the wrong number, sorry.
No, I don't. I know that this is Ashley and I'm here to inform you of something.
Um, okay?
You've become quite close with Hunter Novell these days, haven't you?
I thought back to what just happened and how out near death experience didn't seem to affect him at all. Yes, we've been talking more and we've had a few laughs and we've made some memories, but he honestly didn't seem to care about me. He only saved me today because it was the right thing to do. He would have been perfectly fine if I had been hit.
"Not really, but I guess?" I answered. It took a few minutes for the reply to come but I was shocked by the response nonetheless.
Stay away from him and I mean it. He's mine and not yours. You're a pathetic little loser and your pathetic attempts to get into his pants actually make cry. Now, step away from Hunter Novell or you'll be sorry. You've been warned.
I stared in shock at the screen. Did this person think that I actually liked Hunter? I hate this dare and everything it stands for!
I didn't have time to reply because then my phone started to vibrate. It didn't stop and then the screen went all fuzzy with random lines all across the screen and then there was a spark of electricity as something in my phone had a mini explosion. The entire screen went dark.
What the hell just happened? I tried turning it on again but it was no use, my phone was broken. I sighed. I would just have to take it to the store tomorrow to get it checked out.
I placed my now broken phone on my nightstand and laid my head on the pillow.
Who was that who was texting me? Why were they so obsessed with me and Hunter? As these thoughts circled my head I eventually fell into a deep sleep.
~~Anon POV~~
I smiled as I pressed the send button on the virus that would cause Ashley's phone to explode. God, how I despised that girl.
By being around Hunter she had taken up all of his time and attention so she was stealing everything from me.
"You sent it?" He asked and I nodded.
"If she doesn't head my warning, she'll be sorry," I retorted with a smirk.
"This is perfect. You get back to your agenda with Hunter and I'll finally get to focus on Ashley," he smiled as he started to daydream about his fantasies.
I smirk and shake my head. Ashley had no idea what was coming for her.
