Triple Trouble

"Wake up, Little Bitch!" Cata was rudely woken up by Laito jumping on her bed. Kanato and Ayato were also in her room. They were both grinning wildly and Teddy had on a tiny party hat.

"I'm up! I'm up!" Cata insisted, "What's going on?"

"Can't you tell?" Kanato sounded annoyed as usual.

Ayato ruffled Kanato's hair and shoved him aside, "It's our birthday!"

"Oh yeah," Cata rubbed her eyes, "You guys are triplets right?"

"You got it," Laito smiled.

"Laito get off my bed," Cata shoved Laito off, "Now all of you get out, I have to get dressed."

"Wear some cute dress or something," Kanato said, "We're having a party in a few hours."

Cata grinned as the three left, she had never been to a proper party. She ran over to her closet to look for a dress.

Cata picked out a short white strapless dress. Little black elephants danced across it. She looked at herself in the full length mirror on one of the closet. She stepped into a pair of white flats and went into the bathroom to do her hair.

After a few minutes of searching, Cata found a curling iron. When she was done, her long hair waterfalled down her back in soft ringlets. She put on black lipstick, mascara and eyeliner, white eyeshadow, and a hint of light pink blush. In a drawer she found a cute black elephant pin for her hair.

Cata knocked on Subaru's door before entering.

"Come in," Subaru's muffled voice called through the door.

When Cata walked in, she couldn't help but smile at how awkward Subaru looked. His clothes were handsome enough but he was blushing and pulling at a collar that appeared to be choking him.

He was wearing a black shirt and pants. His vest was white. He was tugging on a black bowtie.

Cata laughed, "I think it's too tight, do you need some help?"

Subaru just looks away, exposing the bowtie. Cata laughed again and fixed it for him. She noticed he hasn't put on shoes yet and was just wearing white socks.

"There," Cata said as she straightened the tie, "much better."

"No-not quite..." Subaru was blushing furiously.

"What?" Subaru lifted Cata's chin and brought his face inches from hers.

"Cata!!" Cece suddenly burst through the door, with little Haru right behind her.

Cece wore an emerald green dress that matched her eyes. The skirt stopped just above her knees like Cata's. She wore black combat boots that matched her ribbon belt and headband. An emerald pin flashed in her short dark hair.

Haru wore a similarly shaped light purple dress. It had a halter top with a white rose brooch on her neck and a lace skirt. Her hair was brushed and up in a bun with two curled strands left down to frame her round face. She had no shoes or socks on and all 20 of her nails were painted white.

Yui came in with a little red dress with black trim on the skirt and sleeves and black flats.

Cece stopped short when she saw Cata and Subaru. A sly grin slowly spread across her face. She grabbed Haru's hand and stuck out her arm to stop Yui.

"So~orry," Cece sang, "I didn't mean to interrupt you two..."

"Wait, Cece," Cata ran over to her, "What did you want?"

Cece sighed and shook her head, "Tsk tsk, little one. Well I-we, were wondering if you knew where the triplets were?"

Cata shrugged, "I think I saw them going towards Reiji and Michiko's room."

Just then, they heard an ear piercing scream. Cece, Haru, and Yui ran towards it.

"It's about time they left," Subaru took Cata's left wrist and gently forced her head to the right.

His tongue traced light circles on the spot where her neck met her shoulder. Cata inhaled sharply. Subaru drank in the scent of her and bit her. He fed greedily from her.

"Subaru... I'm about to faint..." Cata was getting dizzy from blood loss.

In one swift motion, Subaru swept Cata's feet out from underneath her and carried her downstairs.

The party was being held in the entry way. Purple, red, and green ribbons and balloons were strewn everywhere. Tables had also been set up around the room with food and places to sit.

Everyone else was in the hall as well. Laito and Ayato were dancing with Cece and Yui. Reiji was reading while Michiko sat next to him eating a piece of cake. Ai was sitting on the lap of a sleeping Shuu wearing a small yellow dress with matching socks and gloves. Kanato and Haru were sitting together with Teddy. Soft music played in the background.

"Subaru, you can put me down now," Cata said.

"What do you say?" Subaru teased.

"Please?" Cata tried.

Subaru tightened his grip on her left arm and thigh, "You know what I mean."

I glare at him and cross my arms.

"Then I guess I won't let you down," Subaru whispered into Cata's arm. His breath tickled her ear.

"Fine..."

Subaru frowned and roughly set her on the floor. Cata took the stairs two at a time and ran down to Cece. The song changed to a brighter tune and Cece turned to dance with her. They danced for a few songs together.

Suddenly, the sound of a record skipping and stopping filled their ears. Kanato had taken the record off and set a new one on.

"Awe, Kanato, how sweet," Ayato teased. Cata realized it was a sweet slow song.

Laito spun Cece away from Cata and Ayato took Yui. Kanato and Haru took the floor as well.

"Oh, Shuu~" Ai shook Shuu awake, "please dance with me~"

Shuu sighed but stood up and danced anyway. Reiji offered Michiko his hand and she reluctantly took it.

Subaru sat down in a chair.

"Subaru," Cata whined.

"Hmm?"

Cata put her hands on her hips. Subaru smiled and shook his head, "Not until you say it."

Cata huffed and walked across the room. She felt left out watching her new friends dance with each of the brothers.

She didn't notice the tears in her eyes until she tried to blink and her vision went blurry.

Subaru sighed and walked over to her. He wiped the tears away. Cata gasped in surprise.

"Fine," he smirked, "I guess I'll dance with you."
