Chapter Eight.

Hiei's POV: 

"Oh no! Kira?!" Yusuke yells again in worry. That Detective and his loud voice.. 

I sit up , and before the girl's face even got to hit the ground , I lent out my arm to slip around her neck. I took a look at her wound , before holding her up from under her knees with my other arm. "Hiei! Kurama! Will Kira be okay?" Asks the Detective as he stood next to us. The other idiot stares at her in concern. "I don't know if her wound that Byakko gave her is deep or threatening , but she was knocked out because of the pain of her arm.." Kurama trails off , glancing over at her arm. It has been burned , the effect of using The Dragon Of The Dark Flame. 'How could she even be able to do it.. I did not think anyone could succeed in it.. that leads me to think that after all I do have a chance..' I think as I glance from her arm to her face. I do see her beauty , even though I would never admit it to anyone.
"That thing she did sure was powerful! It must've drained her energy.." The Detective finally caught on.
"Alright! What do we do know huh?! This is real bad you guys!" The fool Kuwabara says. He is right though. She's injured and is unconscious.

"Hmm.." Kurama thought. "Well , first we check if that wound is still bleeding , nonetheless , we'll have to bandage it up.." He trails off as we all take a moment to glance at her.

"So..who will do it?" Yusuke asks , and smiled nervously. "W-Well.. I- I don't think I can..I mean..Uh..Well.." Kuwabara idiotically just mumbles. 

"Um , well what do you think Kurama? I mean-" "Hn. If none of you have the guts to do such a simple thing , then I will do it myself. You're wasting time , nothing more. What is the point." I say and glare at them. Such fools. 

"Well you see , Hiei. They were referring.. to outcome of doing it." Kurama calmly explains. I remained silent.

"Anyway , we should really check her wound, now." The Detective says urgently. I put her down on the ground , as I removed her jacket. Now , it was her white sleeveless shirt. I hesitated for some reason. 

"What's the problem , Hiei , nervous?" Mocks Yusuke , as he sends me a smug look. I look up at him. "No." I glare. He only awaits. "Oh yeah?" He presses grinning and coming closer. "Shut up , Detective." I scoff. "Come on Hiei , let me do it for you instead." Kurama says as he gets down besides the girl , and proceeds to pull up the tank top rather than taking it off. It showed us her toned but clawed stomach. 

"I will not completely remove it , it's easier that way. Besides , the wound starts from her rib cage to her left waist. I will just need you , Yusuke , to make her sit up while I bandage her." Kurama tells as The Detective nods , getting down and holding her in a sitting position.

After they're done , he bandages her arm. "All done." "Good. We should continue ahead." I say , as they all look at me. "Alright." Yusuke , takes her and puts her over his shoulder. "Good. We shall continue now." Kurama says.

I glance back at the girl. 'She's interesting for sure ,not to mention strong. I wonder what class she is ranked?' 

I shook those thoughts as we continue ahead. We ran into the remaining way at stairs for a while , before reaching a room full of several doors. "What? You're kidding me." The Detective exclaims. "Hm , it appears we have found a maze in Maze Castle!" I joke , having my arms in my cloak's pockets , looking around us. "Well I guess that makes sense." Yusuke turns to me. Just about then , Kira groans. She stirs in the Detective's hold , and groans. "What..happened.."

"You were knocked out. Don't worry , you'll be fine with me." He assures. I look at her as she tells him to get her down. He hesitantly obeys and we all look at her.  "What did I miss?" She asks , looking at us. As her eyes fell on me , I saw her tense , her cheeks dust with pink and look away. Hn , is she embarrassed at how she reacted before blacking out on me? I felt myself smirk in mischief.

"Not much , Byakko is defeated and now we are heading for the third beast. How are you feeling? How is your wound? We have helped and bandaged up for you to stop the bleeding. Are you okay now?" Kurama gently speaks. She smiled at him. "I feel fine." Then she suddenly tenses. "Wait! Who.. how did you bandage my..wound?" She hesitantly asks. Kurama only smiles. "Don't worry , it was me. I simply only lifted up your shirt a little , nothing more." He explains as she sighs and nods.  

"Are you sure you're alright Kira? I can give you a piggy-bag ride if you want to." Kuwabara says making me scoff. "No , thank you Kuwabara. I feel fine." She declines , polity I must point out.
"That's okay. Just don't feel shy to tell me whenever you feel dizzy okay!" He adds. Hopeless.

After Kurama informs us about the fail attempts of others of taking the wrong door , The Detective tells his tall friend to figure out which door we should take.

"The second door on the left." "You heard the man , let's go."

"How do we know he's not making a mistake?" I inquire. He could lead to the wrong door for all I know. "I'm sorry Shorty maybe it's not your thing but you just gotta trust me on this one. I know.. there's something big behind that door..something scary." He said as he opened it , then suddenly backed out letting out some panicked screams. "A mouse. So scary." Muttered Kira sarcastically , making me smirk and Kurama to chuckle. "I hate mice!" The idiot shouts in fright. Humph. 

"Gee Kuwabara and that speech of yours was getting so dramatic!" Comments the Detective too with a sarcastic tone at the end.

We finally go inside , and walk to our fate. Either we trust our lives to Kuwabara's choice , or we have lost.
