Mia's POV
As I walked up the stairs back to my room, I couldn't stop thinking about mom. She passed a few years ago due to cancer. She was certain she would fight it and be a survivor. It's been a hard couple of years without her. I miss her so much. She was married to a guy named Evan at the time. They were married for 2 years. Not long. But he knew she wasn't going to make it. They got divorced a few months before she passed. Abby was 13 at the time, and I was 9. Abby wasn't old enough to care for me. She wasn't responsible at the time either. Luckily, Abby knew the neighbors very well, because she was friends with the neighbors daughters. I didn't play with them. There was a little one that was my age, but I preferred to stay home with mom. I didn't like playing with other kids. I never did. And I still don't like too. I probably never will. I'm not outgoing either. I've never been that kid that wanted to make friends. I had my mom, and she was all I needed. Anyways, the neighbors took great care of us for the little time they did. When Abby got older, they gave us about $3,000 for a very small apartment. And I mean tiny. Abby got a job, so eventually we had more. Thanks neighbors! So, when we had enough, we moved out, and I lived with Abby, and her boyfriend. He supported her the whole time he was with her. They didn't date for too long. Right when Abby got the apartment, he started seeing her. Ugh just thinking about them makes me want to move out. They would always kiss. Eeeeeewww. After about a year, Abby found out he was cheating on her. Abby, being the screaming human she is, of course yelled until she couldn't yell anymore. She was so heart broken after that. But, it did benifit her in a way... She would focus more on work, and eventually she got a raise. And did I forgot to mention the baby sitter? Well, while she was at work, she would take me to school and she wasn't out yet too get me. So she hired a babysitter. Abby payed her a lot a week. So that raise helped her. Mom was always proud of Abby. Abby would be the one to get all the awards at school, and to accomplish everything. Mom never saw pride in me. I was always the shy, and quiet one. Mom always told me that when I got older, I would make friends more easily. That's not true. I still have trouble even talking to people other than my family. Abby said that I should get a boyfriend. Easier said, than done. I mean I can try, but it won't end well.
