John
After my haircut, the girls wanted to go to the mall. I swear they went to every store in the mall, even the toy store!
I was currently holding one bag with jeans in it, one with new heels, one with a few shirts, and one just full of jewelry.
"Okay, only two more things and we can go," Clarke said.
We walked into Victoria's secret. Ugh. "You guys have me in a panty and bra store now?"
"Don't act like you don't enjoy checking out the girls in here," Raven laughed. "Besides, a guys opinion is very good. I could tell Clarke to get the black set, but you might say the brown one looks better. Two opinions are better than one."
I rolled my eyes. "Fine."
Finally, Clarke was finished browsing and had narrowed her choices to: a black and blue lace set, purple, pink, just blue, or white and gray.
"I don't know if your roommate should pick out your underwear."
"You're a straight guy. Come on," she laughed. "Be honest."
"The blue and black and the grey and white."
She smiled. "Those were my favorites, too. I'll check out really quick." I watched as she walked to the counter and pulled out her wallet.
"It's easy isn't it?" Ravens voice caught me off guard.
"What's easy? Picking out underwear?"
She chuckled. "Falling for Clarke. It's easy."
"I don't know what you're getting at."
"Yes you do," she sighed. "I get it. If I was a lesbian I'd be into her. She's the best girl I know. But she's fragile. I dont think you'll come on to her, and that's good. Don't. She'll come on to you when she's ready."
"Raven. She's my best friend. It's not like that. Is she beautiful? Yes. But I won't compromise our friendship because she beautiful. I won't hurt what she's fixed."
"That's why you will," she smiled.
What the actual fuck was happening right now? Ugh.
"I'm done here, guys," Clarke said as she approached us. "Last thing I need is food," she laughed.
"Alright, let's go," I said as we intertwined our fingers. "Let me guess. Chicken from there," I pointed. "Rice from there, and desert from there?"
"This is exactly why you're my favorite," she laughed.
"Here, take the bags and grab a seat. I'll grab the food so we don't have to carry both. Raven, what do you need?"
"I'm going to grab pizza actually. I'll meet Clarke at the table and wait for you." Raven walked over to the pizza place and Clarke started looking for a seat.
"Well, today was fun," Clarke said as we brought her stuff inside.
"Yeah, it was. I didn't know if it'd be crazy with Raven, but it was co," I chuckled. "It's late, I'm going to grab a shower while you put your stuff up. I'll meet you in yours in a few."
As I showered I thought about what Raven had said. She had basically 'given me permission' to be with Clarke if that's what Clarke chose. But, that's not the endgame I saw. I assume she'll find someone eventually and we'll stay best friends. Hell we knew too much about each other. She noticed when I changed soap, for Pete's sake.
I put on my pajamas and went to grab a snack before bed. Hot chips and a brownie for Clarke and string cheese for me.
"Hey, I grabbed snacks," I said as I knocked on Clarke's door.
"You're the best! One more second," she replied.
After a second, the door opened and Clarke was obviously trying on her new clothes. She was wearing dark skinny jeans, ankle boots, and the shirt she bought was a blue tank top, stopping above her belly button with a black see through over shirt that tied above her belly button.
"Does it look okay?" She bit her lip.
I smiled at her. "Of course, Clarke. You're going to be attached when we go out! I'm going to have to hire security."
"Oh, hush," she laughed. "Okay, well I just wanted to make sure. Let me get my pajamas and I'll change in the bathroom so I can toss these in the wash. Go ahead and get comfy, we're going to cry tonight!" She walked off to her bathroom and I shook my head. She was so crazy.
"Oh my god, why did I pick this movie?!" Clarke was crying as we watched 'If I Stay.' It was definitely a sad movie, shit I wanted to cry, but instead I just handed Clarke a tissue and let her cry it out. "That's the ending? Ugh!" She exclaimed as tears fell freely.
"Hey, let's watch something funny next so that we can laugh before bed, not cry." I took the laptop as she wiped her eyes again and turned on Dane Cook.
"Oh! I love him," she sniffled, shifting to get more comfortable. I did the same, getting ready to pass out.
