Morgan and Daniel continued to talk consistently for multiple months. They would talk almost every day, if not every other day. Morgan became extremely comfortable with Daniel and was no longer nervous speaking with him. She had put the skype app onto her phone and would talk to him while cooking or doing other chores. It got to a point after about two months where they would start to have comfortable pauses in conversation and would just be silent on the call while doing other work. They became very accustomed to each other's presence.
Jess and Morgan shared a delicious dinner one night in Morgan's condo. Now, enjoying some candle lit dessert wine, they laughed over previous conversations.
"Hey so what's been going on with your elmo man?" Jess asked.
"How many times do I have to tell you! His name is Etho! Like the Greek word about character and stuff? Etho...not a kids show character...jeeze....plus I call him by his real name thank you very much!"
"Right right...so how's that whole thing progressing?"
"Well, we talk almost every day. I'd like to think that he flirts with me alot, but he's never mentioned anything about meeting in person. Plus, who knows how far away he lives! All I know is that we are in the same time zone."
"So...are you gonna take this limbo relationship you have and do something with it? Or are you just going to leave it alone and see what happens"
"Well I'd love to see him again, but I'm just not sure if that what he wants."
"Morgan? Do you like him? Do you seriously think that you two could have a relationship?"
"Yea...I do. We get along so well and he's so kind to me. I just...I'm just worried that he doesn't feel the same way."
"Hmm well maybe it's time you talked to him about it and figured that out"
"Yea, maybe your right." Morgan agreed as she took another sip of her wine.
For the next few days she pondered how she could bring up such a topic. Morgan feared that talking about their relationship could ruin their freindship. A few days later, during their typical evening chat, Morgan gathered up the courage to ask him.
"Hey Daniel?"
"Hmm? What's up?"
"I have a slight question." She said, starting to get nervous.
"Shoot." He said, slightly picking up on the change in her voice.
"So...um...what is your opinion about us?" Morgan said as she struggled to find the right words.
"What is my opinion about us?" He repeated, eyebrows raised.
"Yea...like is our relationship...exactly..." Morgan trailed off.
"Ahh, gotcha. Well I would say that we are defiently friends."
Morgan's face stared to fall as she bit her lip.
"But" Daniel continued, "I...um... personally really like you and I hope that not only you feel the same way, but that maybe we can swim past friends?"
Morgan smiled.
"Yea, I think I would really like that."
They continued conversation for an hour or two before heading to bed. After this, Morgan noticed that the amount of blatant flirting increased. Any time they talked, Daniel would add a cute or suggestive comment. One evening, Daniel was editing a video and Morgan was folding some laundry. He glanced over at her then just stopped to look at her. He gazed at her face, watched her fluid movements of folding the laundry and wondered how he could find a woman folding laundry to be so beautiful and sensual. He started to long to touch her and the feeling started to bubble up.
"Ugh! That's it! I can't take it anymore. Morgan, give me your address!" Daniel said in an exasperated voice.
"What? Why?" She said as she looked up from her laundry.
"Because I need to see you and I want to know how many hours it will take to get to you."
"Uh alright fine..my address is xyz"
"Hold on hold on..." He said as he looked at his second screen. "Alright say that again, but slower."
Morgan relayed her address to him and he entered it, seeing how long it would take him.
"An hour and a half. That's it. Your just an hour and a half away. You have got to be kidding me. All this time, you were that close. I'm on my way. I'll see you in a bit, bye!" He said as he got up, ended the call and got prepared to go.
"What?......your coming here? What?" Morgan said as she looked at the call ended screen, "Oh my...I have an hour and a half to shave...everything.."
She got up and ran to the bathroom to shower. After 45 minutes she quickly got out of the shower, freshly shaved and clean. She ran to her bedroom and applied lotion all over her body and chose a pair of nice Jean shorts and a cute tank top on. Then she ran all over the house to pick up the laundry and any small messes that were left and did the dishes. She still had about 20 minutes left until Daniels estimated arrival so she ran to the bathroom to put on a minimal amount of makeup and try to dry and style her hair. All of a sudden she heard the loud buzzer for the door. Giving herself a second to put the hair drier away, she gave herself a final look over and ran to the door.
"Hello?" Morgan said into the intercom.
"Hey, it's me Daniel. Can you open the door?"
She hit the button to let Daniel in. She ran back to the bathroom to put the rest of her makeup away and take one last attempt to fix her hair. Then she heard a knock at her door. She ran over to the door and took a deep breath. She opened the door to see Daniel standing there with a big smile on his face.
