Madelyn's POV
It's been nearly 2 hours since Carson called 9-1-1 and an ambulance picked up my dad.I was too scared to call by myself. I still haven't heard anything from Ashton, don't think I want to. He seemed too pissed off when he ran off in the opposite direction. Right now Carson's in the hospital room with me trying to calm me down. He keeps rubbing the sides of my arms while trying to comfort me. It's not working. Honestly, I just want to be left alone. All alone. Why can't he just die already and save me from anymore hurt than he's cause me before? I think while staring at my dad in that plain white bed. He looks horrible.
After what seems like hours but in reality have only been ten minutes, A bleach blonde doctor with her hair in a bun comes in.
"I don't know how to tell you this." She says slowly. oh god. He's probably dead. Just be dead already! "He's in a deep coma until we can figure out why he passed out the way he did. At first we thought it was a drug overdose but then we did more tests." She continues.
"And?" I ask softly. I bet he's dead.
"I don't know. To be honest we haven't seen anything like this before."
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THIS BEFORE!? YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE A GOD DAMN DOCTOR! SHOULDN'T YO-" Carson cuts me off by putting his hand over my mouth.
"Shhhhhhh. She's just trying to do her job." He he keeps on trying and calms me down. Tears start running down my face but he rubs them away.
"Lets go outside for a few minutes." He picks me and carries me out in his arms. I would normally find this gesture really annoying but right now I'm not in the mood to struggle.
Carson's POV
I keep rubbing Maddies forehead in an attempt to relax her. Playing with the bracelets on her left arm with my other hand. She looks so beautiful. I really wish I had a time machine just so I could keep going back to this day forever and keep reliving it. Well not the whole day...only this part. It seems so perfect just sitting here.
Scratch that time machine. I don't want to go back to this day ever again. I just found light purple scars when I was playing with her bracelets. That's enough to break my heart a thousand times in a two second time span.
"Oh god Mads." I whisper on the verge of tears. She bolts right up from the bench we're laying on.
"I can explain." She says painfully.
"You don't need to. I can guess why." I just wrap my arms around her hide my face in her hair and start sobbing. This is the most hurt I've ever been in my whole life. I wish I would have been there for her, not cheated, not walked away when she needed someone, just stayed with her.
"Just promise you'll never do this again." I whisper.
"I can't make a promise I can't keep."
"Fine. But just know that I'm always going to be here for you. No matter what! You can always talk to me. I love you Maddy." I need to start being there for her. I need to help her when she needs help. I need to show her I love her again.
Hope you all liked this emotional chapter. If you like this leave a comment and I will put more like this. I think the song on the side fits this chapter perfectly.
