"Justin, are you ready?" called my mom.
"Uh, mom, it's okay, I can walk to school."
"Are you sure? It's the first day of 9th grade for you, it's okay if I'm a little late for work."
"No, really mom, it's no big deal! You go ahead to work!"
"Well, alright, if you insist," said mom, giving in.
She walked over to me while I ate breakfast.
My messy brown hair was the same as it was when I had gotten out of bed, and it covered my blue eyes a little.
I was wearing a sky blue shirt with a light grey jacket over it. I also had black jeans on with a pair of dark blue sneakers.
My mom leaned over and kissed me on the top of my head.
"Your lunch is in the fridge, and your father will be home a little late today, okay?"
I nodded, picking up my backpack and stuffing my books and notebooks inside.
"And remember," continued my mom.
"Don't lose your keys!" We said in unison.
"Bye, Justin." said mom as she walked out the door.
"Bye mom." I said as the door closed behind her.
I walked over to the fridge and got my lunch, packing it in my backpack.
I checked to make sure I had everything.Books, pencils, pens, notebooks....
something was missing.I went down the hall into my bedroom and looked around. I picked up my math textbook, glad that I found it.
I suddenly saw a soft blue glow coming from my desk.
I went over to it, and suddenly, the glow seemed to have gotten brighter, and it hurt my eyes to look at it, but yet, I couldn't tear them away.
I got closer, and opened the drawer, and searched for the source of the blue light.
I found something I didn't remember putting in my desk.
As it kept glowing in my hands, water flooded in through the walls, how exactly, I had no idea. I panicked, not knowing what to do with the sudden event.
A wave of water crashed my way, glowing, as if something was inside it.
I stared, in a trance. It was an ideal wave for surfing. And by ideal... It was perfect. Literally.
The water crashed down on me and I prepared myself for a cold, wet feeling, but instead was greeted with a warm, floating feeling.
Why couldn't I move?
Is this what it feels like when you drown?, I thought. Is this what it feels like when you die?
Am I dead?
