"Miss, it's 7:50. Shall we head to the limo?" Bottsworth, my parents' servant asked me.
"Yes. Thanks again for driving me, Bottsworth. I was so sure Dad would find time to drive me to school today." I sighed, shaking my head.
"It's not a problem, Miss. Your father's a busy man," he said, opening the passenger seat for me.
I smile gratefully at Bottsworth.
"Oh," I say, shutting my door. "Do you think we could stop by the Upon Ever After boutique? I promised Eve I'd bring back her flats today."
"Of course," Bottsworth said.
Before long, we were at the boutique and I climbed out with Eve's flats in hand.
I walked inside only to find the place deserted besides one or two shop helpers and the cashier. Most people didn't come here normally, anyway: it was really expensive - but it was never deserted.
I guessed that most people were at work, school or home. I looked around.
"Eve?" I called.
The cashier looked up at me.
"She should be in the storage room," They said. "If you want to check."
I nodded and went around to the back of the room and pulled open the door to the storage room.
"Eve?" I tried again after stepping inside. "Eve! This isn't funny. Get out here. I've got your flats."
I walked around a little.
"Eve, seriously. I need to get to school!" I was half-yelling by now.
I turned a corner and looked around some more. I found a table and set the flats on it.
"Well, your flats are on the table!" I said, though I doubted she could hear me. She probably wasn't even here.
I sighed and turned to leave when I saw a faint glow from near the door of the storage room. I saw sunlight.
Sunlight? Am I hallucinating? I wondered.
The storage room was very dark, although it was morning. I shook off the curiosity clawing at me and put my hand on the handle of the door.
The whole place shook. Boxes of shoes fell down and clothes littered the floor.
I froze.
I have to get out of here! I thought frantically.
I pulled the door to open it, but it wouldn't budge. I was locked inside.
"Help!!" I banged against the door. "I need to get to school!" I added.
"I need to get outside!" I yelled, and suddenly, I was blinded by yellow sunlight streaming out of my hands.
"AH!" I yelped, shaking my hands, wiping them on my clothes, hitting them against the door.
"Get OFF!" I yelled frustratedly.
I seriously hoped this was a prank, maybe a trick. How else would sunlight be coming out of my hands?
I clasped my hands together and sighed. There was nothing I could do.
"I give up," I said into the empty space around me. "You win, whoever you are."
As soon as the words left my lips, there was a flash of light and I slammed against the door and tumbled out.

So I know I haven't updated this in a looong time but I'm going to try and update more often.
Also, I'm sorry for the repetitiveness of the chapters, there's supposed to be as many characters as there are eyes on the cover ;) so just bear with me :)
