"Maya, Maya, Maya, Hello is anybody there?" Farkle said trying to get her attention "Come on." He said snapping his fingers in her face

"This is werid, she's never not eaten." Riley said sitting across from her

"Yeah so werid." Lucas said awkwardly

What even is my life right now. I couldn't have just kept my mouth shut and went with it.

No, because I always have to be a good friend.

'Please Maya' she said.

'It'll be fine' she said.

"Maya!" Farkle said

"What?" She said confused

"Where were you?"

"What do you mean?" She asked furrowing her eyebrows

"You zoned out." Riley said

"Oh." She said embarrassed

"Yeah Lunch is almost over." Farkle said

At this point Lucas looked very interested in is empty tray.

"Lucas are you okay, you haven't really said anything this whole time?" Riley asked

"Yeah I'm fine"

I was not 'fine'.

And I would never be 'fine' as long as I live.

You may ask 'Oh Lucas why so sad?'
Or maybe 'You know you haven't talked all day'

I have a very good reason for you.

Approximately 4 hours ago I confessed my love to the girl I've liked since 7th grade.

And you maybe thinking 'Oh you finally told Riley how much you like her'

No I didn't.

I told Maya.

I told Maya Penelope Hart that I have been hopelessly in love with her since middle school.

And I'm not sure either one of us are doing too well with this information. Especially me, it was eating away at me. There is no use in leading Riley on, whatever that was is no longer,  hopefully everyone understands that.

"Are you sure you're fine?" Farkle asked skeptically

"Yeah," Lucas glanced at Maya who was avoiding eye contact. He sighed "Just fine."
