An Understatement (GMW)(Rewritten)

Lucas spent most of first block plotting which caused him to get yelled at by Mr. Matthews and receive a detention for that afternoon. And in return it gave him his grand plan.

All he had to do was some how get Maya detention too. It had become a harder task than usual since she cleaned up her act. So he spent most of lunch plotting some more.

"Earth to Lucas." Zay said waving a hand in his face "Jesus Christ man are you even attempting to pay attention?" He whined

"Give it a rest Isaiah, it's obvious he is ignoring you." Isadora said rolling her eyes

"Blatantly ignoring." Maya added. All of them looked at her "What?" She questioned "It was one of the words on that word calender Farkle gave me for Christmas."

"Not so stupid anymore I guess." Farkle smirked

Maya glared at him.

She noticed that not only was Lucas staring off into space, but so was Riley. They both seemed to be thinking about something. Maya could guess what Lucas was think about easy, but not Riley. She had no idea what to expect at the moment. She was trying her best to not over think, but it wasn't working very well. She needed more time before she had to talk to Riley, but she wasn't sure how to get it.

"Earth to Maya." Zay tried "Damn, what is up with yall today." He complained "No one is paying attention to me."

"I'm paying attention to you." Farkle tried

"As am I." said Isadora

"Yeah but you two don't count." He pouted

Isadora rolled her eyes once again "I don't know why I even try anymore."

The three of them began bickering, while that went on Lucas made confusing eye contact with Maya. Confusing being that both of them had no idea what was going on.

Lucas got up to dump his tray and Maya followed.

"What are they arguing about this time?" He asked referring back to their table of bickering friends and a confused as ever Riley.

"You never know with them." Maya chuckled

"Maya, do you think we could talk?"

"We are talking Huckleberry." She smiled innocently

He rolled his eyes playfully "You know what I mean."

"I have to meet Riley after school, can we talk after that."

"No." Lucas said quickly which made her raise an eyebrow "I-I mean, this is urgent. Matthews gave me detention so I wouldn't have time." He said trying to save himself

"Detention you say." Maya pondered "I haven't had that in a while."

Lucas's eyes almost lit up instantly, he knew what she was doing. Maya didn't want to talk to Riley after school, she was trying to get out of it.

"So...what're you thinking?"

"I'm thinking I might need detention."
