When you woke up sweat was pouring down your body. Fear had wrapped itself around you and was trying to strangle you. Used to this you knew what to do. You jumped out of bed and ran into your bathroom where you turned on your shower and got in. Still fully clothed you cried as the water soaked through your clothes and pounded on your head. Soon the water had washed away all the disgust and fear you felt. You couldn't remember the dream you had but it left you in terrible shape every time.
Hush little baby don't say a word . . . You sang to yourself in your mind. Repeating the same line over and over again. As you climbed out of the shower you were hit with the cold air that filled your bathroom. Shivering and still crying you made your way to your closet where you pulled out some comfortable clothes. You pealed the wet clothes off and dried yourself before you got dressed.
"Another nightmare?" A voice said from the other side of your bedroom door. You opened it and Damian stood there with tired eyes. You nodded and sighed.
"You shouldn't even worry about it Dame," your voice cracked, making the statement seem hypocritical.
"If you need anything I'll be in my room." Damian said shutting your door.
"How'd you know?" You asked before he could completely close the door.
"I heard the shower running," he said. "It's three AM."
~
You got dressed into something more presentable when 8:00 came around. You grabbed your beanie and pulled it over your messy hair. When you got half way out the door your mothers voice stopped you,
"Where you going?"
"Out. It's Saturday, I'm going for a ride," you said raising your skateboard over your head.
"Okay," your mothers voice was soft and disappointed. You waved behind you and shut the door.
You rode around town for a while before stopping at one of the parks scattered around your town. You sat down on the curb and sighed.
Charlie is dead, because of me, you thought. You looked down at your board and smiled at a sticker on the bottom of it. It was Mario holding a mushroom, his eyes dilated and wide.
"Who put you there?" You asked scratching at the sticker.
"Nobody important," a voice said from behind you. You turned to see nobody though. You then spotted a guy sitting on a swing set in the park. You walked towards the swings and stood in front of him.
"H-hey," you said nervously.
"Hi," his voice was quiet and soft. You looked at the beige hoodie and smiled.
"Whatcha doing here?" You asked, your voice soft.
"I-I thought y-you might wanna come to the mansion?" The boy said. You gripped your board tighter and thought about it. You hadn't heard from (your friend) or anyone else, why not?
Oh I don't know, maybe cause it's a house full of murders?
"Sure," you said, ignoring your thoughts.
"Good, everyone will be excited t-to see you (Y/N)."
"And why would they?" You asked.
"Cause you're nice."
"Thanks hoodie," you smiled.
"Mmhmm," he hummed. Hoodie made you close your eyes and lead you through some forest.
~
You were relieved when you finally reached the mansion and hoodie took his hand off your eyes. You opened your eyes, squinting since you hadn't seen the sun in a while.
"Woah," you breathed out. You had never seen the outside of the mansion. It was beautiful yet creepy.
"Yeah," hoodie said walking towards the door. You followed close behind and entered the mansion. When you walked in you immediately sat on the couch. You waved at Eyeless Jack as he entered the room. He waved back and changed the direction he was walking towards you.
"Hey (Y/N)," he said, you could hear his smile.
"Hello Eyeless Jack," you said formally, for no reason.
"Call me EJ," he said. "Did Ben bring you back?"
"Actually no, hoodie did," you said looking around for him.
"Hoodie? Really?" EJ said also scanning the area for hoodie. You looked up at the older boy and nodded.
"Although I don't know why he did."
"I think I might have an idea . . ." EJ's voice was low. He grabbed your arm and pulled your down the winding halls, you passed EJ's door, which some reason you remember. Then you stopped at the one next to it, Ben's. EJ let go of your hand and pointed at the door. You heard screaming and shouting from inside.
"You're fucking cheating!" One voice yelled.
"Am not, you just fucking suck!" The other shouted back.
"Bull shit! I call hacks!"
"Shut up, loser!"
"At least I'm not crying!"
You opened the door to see Jeff and Ben staring at the TV hung up on the wall.
"Ben, stop hacking," you said, your voice soft yet firm. Ben's eyes stayed glued to the screen but his eyes widened. He slowly turned to face you, tears dried to his face.
"(Y/N)?" His voice was quiet. Jeff lifted his arms up in victory.
"Hell ya! I win, you lose!" Jeff shouted. "Thanks (Y/N)!"
"(Y/N) . . ." Ben repeated. You waved slightly and looked back at EJ, but he wasn't there.
"Princess," you said, stealing a glance at Jeff, he smiled.
"What? How?" Ben stared at you confused, he wiped away the tears that had been on his face and looked away.
"Hoodie brought me here," you explained.
"Hoodie?" Ben and Jeff asked in unison. You nodded and took a step into the room.
"Hi," you breathed out.
"Hi," Ben said in response. Jeff stood up and pat Ben on the back before the exited the room, closing the door behind him.
"Why were you crying?" You asked Ben, still standing in the same spot.
"Because I was," he said looking at the ground in front of you.
"You can tell me," you said taking a step forward.
"How can I tell you if you're the reason I was crying?" Ben asked.
