Skyler's p.o.v

"really!! we are 20 minutes late because you had to take me on the scenic route! I've lived here a year almost ive seen it all" I yelled at Mali

she just had to show me the way the stars look on the back roads

"I just thought you might like to see it but im sorry" she says  stretching out the Im sorry getting out of the car

"whatever its okay I just like to be punctual" I say opening my door "just I drive next time"

"okay" she says rolling her eyes because I say that every time  and she always ends up driving

we open the door and thank god they haven't started eating yet because that would have been awkward but instead there are waiters handing out o'dourves. I see joy and David talking to a women with two kids a boy and a girl who look board out of their mind. Mali pulls me out of my thoughts by dragging me a crossed the room

"there are some people I want you to meet" she says

we end up in front of 4 boys one was her brother

"hey guys its been like 9 years" she says hugging them all but her brother "this is Skyler"

"sup im Luke"

"im Michael"

"im Ashton" 

" I feel like we are back in at an interview" Calum says laughing

"well its-" I start to say but Michael cuts me off

"holy shit you're American" he says surprised

"yeah" I say dragging out the yeah

"that's hot" he says smirking

Calum and Luke both hit him in the arm at the same time

" wow Michael wow" Mali says "sky I'll find you later I have to go make my rounds of saying hi before dinner or my mom will get mad and Michael don't hit on her please"

"okay Mali see yeah later" I say as she walks away

"what part of America are you from?" Michael asked

"its a small town in upstate New York" I answered

" did you meet a lot of Americans here?" he asked another question 

"no not really, what's your obsession with America?" I ask him

"America is just like fucking awesome" he says shrugging his shoulders

"no its not we are in a 19 trillion dollar dept. this years election is a totally joke, and we've had more mass murders this year then the last 10 years in Canada. yeah so its not that great right now but hopefully one day it will be ." I say just listing a few things off the top of my head

there was a few moments of silence

"how the fuck do you know all that stuff?" Michael asked as the other three laugh

" I have a mother who loves to talk about anything and everything." I say grabbing a glass of champagne as a waiter with a tray of them walk by

some lady comes by and asked if she could steal Luke away for a second

"are you even a loud to be drinking how old are you?" Michael asked after I took a big chug of it

"im 19, damn you're nosey." I say

"oh its worse when were on tour." calum says

"guys im going to go safe Lauren and harry from my mom"  Ashton says

"im not nosey" Michael says ignoring Ashton

"yes you are" Calum says and they start to bicker

I walk away to go find Mali. she is talking to a guy who looks shockingly similar to Luke

"so Mali what happened to you and Jason."

oh no

"um we broke up. we just wanted different things." she says looking down at her fingers

"hey Mali." I say trying to get her away from that situation

"hey sky this is jack Hemmings, Luke's  brother" she said gesturing between us

I shake his hand

"well Mali it was nice talking to you again I will see you later." he said waking up to a girl with dirty blonde hair

" I swear to fucking god if I don't get some alcohol in me in the next five seconds I will jump off of a bridge." she said walking to the kitchen part of this restaurant

"um excuse  me you cant be in here." some lady with white hair says as we walk in

" um well can you please find someone who can get me a god damn drink please" mali said to the lady

" Oh honey what kind" the lady asked mali

" vodka tonic" she says as her and the lady walk further into the kitchen and I am left alone again

" what's her problem" someone says behind me

I turn around to see calum

"oh um people keep asking about her and Jason and she is getting frustered "  I say and he rolls his eyes

"i hate to be the one to tell her I told you so but I told her that he was bad news" he says 

"not be rude or anything but I don't really think that's what she needs right now" I say kind of laughing the last part

" well how the hell do you now what she needs" He said sharply

"do you not remember that I have lived with her for the past 7 months I was there when she started dating him and when he dumbed her for some redheaded slut" I say rolling my eyes

" well I am her brother so...." he says shrugging his shoulder

"yeah well  just because you are her brother doesn't always mean you know best" I say as mali comes out of the kitchen

"that lady is my new best friend" she said laughing

"good because I thought you needed a new one" calum said walking away and so did all of the thoughts of him being attractive

"what the hell happened " mali said looking shocked

"I'll tell you later"
