To The Moon And Back... (Gotham Oneshots)

Little Birdie (Oswald Cobblepot)

"You didn't have to get me all of this!" I exclaimed to Oswald as we walked down the main high street in Gotham. Since he was now the 'king of Gotham' he got a lot more money. That meant expensive dates and presents galore. Of course I wasn't going to complain about that, but I didn't need all those material objects, all needed was my Ozzy. "But, my dove, I wanted to treat you like the princess you are" he kissed my nose so softly and sweet. A red blush spread all over his cheeks as he adjusted his sunglasses. He fixed his tail coat collar as we turned into our street. Butch was guarding the door and smiled as we stepped inside. Instantly, I dropped my bags and grabbed onto Oswald. My baby, my rock, my King. He kissed me on the nose and I pulled him in for a kiss on the lips. It was innocent and sweet although Oswald had to tilt his head because of his prominent nose. I loved his nose, even though he didn't.

Suddenly, one of Oswald's 'men' stepped forward and tapped him on the back. He swivelled around and began to discreetly tell them to stick their important business where the sun doesn't shine. I, on the other hand, lay on the couch in my dress and heels as my eyelids began to feel weighted. I pulled a cushion under my head and snuggled into the soft purple velvet.

**Time Skip**

I awoke to the streetlamp's soft yellow glow permeating the curtains and a slip of paper balanced on the edge of the table along with a glass of wine. My shoes had been taken off and a large duvet had been draped over me. I reached out and, in the near darkness read the note:

Hello my angel, you were sleeping so I couldn't tell you what I needed to. I have to go out on important business but i will be back before breakfast. I tucked you in and got you a drink before I left. I will love you forever and always my Little Birdie.

I smiled and held the note to my chest. Sure enough he did come back before I even saw the street lamps switch off.
