You'd been dating Jim for two years, so you knew what he was like when he got attached to a case. It showed his dedication to the job, but sometimes it would be nice to have him home at the same time every night to have dinner together and ... couple time (😉). Today he was running extra late and his food was beyond cold. You might as well have put it in the freezer. Instead of being angry at him, you called him. He picked it up on the second ring. "Hi beautiful, I'm so sorry but I won't be home before midnight. I'm so sorry and I'll take the day off tomorrow and we can take the whole day off I promise. I wi-" you stopped him (and your quickly forming tears) with two words. "Don't worry". Inside you were hurt, but you knew he loved you more than anyone.

You put his plate in the microwave with the door open and as soon as you slipped into bed in your pyjamas, two soft hands slid around your waist. "You thought I'd miss couple time?" said a familiar voice. He was faking disbelief and it was adorable. You giggled and blushed at his proximity to your face as you turned over to face him. He kissed your lips softly and gently. "Your dinner's in the microwave" you chuckled. You weren't in the mood for whatever he was suggesting. "Okay baby" he said jogging into the kitchen. Shortly after the microwave pinged, a shirtless Jim in sweatpants came in, holding a tray with his food and a cupcake that said 'sorry I'm late home, I wanted to get you a cupcake' on it. You chuckled at the sentiment as he sat beside you in bed and your cheek.

There you say, eating and watching movies together. The best couple's time ever.
