THE BIG PUSH - I fall, you fall Evans

Lily POV

Me and my friends were heading to the Great hall for lunch. I was looking for my history of magic textbook, where I scribbled down which book I need to pick up at the library, because I was planning on getting some work done later that day. The problem that followed was that it was missing, and so were my ink and quill. That was weird. I could have sworn I put them away after divination.

"Guys," I said with a sigh, "I think I left my history of magic textbook at divination. I'll see you at lunch."

I turned around and made my way to the divination classroom. I really wasn't in the mood for walking. Why did I even choose this stupid subject in third year? It makes no sense - just staring into a misty glass ball and teacups. And to top it off, you have to walk up thousands of stairs to get to the classroom. It's odd, I remember putting the book inside my bag. I climbed the ladder and entered the classroom. I looked around but my belongings were still nowhere to be found. Suddenly I heard the door behind me slam shut.

"Why, what a pleasant surprise to see youhere Evans," I heard a familiar voice say behind me and I groaned. It was James Potter.

Third Person

"Why, what a pleasant surprise to see you here Evans," James said. Lily rolled her eyes and tried to make her way past James, but he wouldn't budge.

"May I accompany you to lunch as a date?" he asked politely.

"Why of course you may" Lily started and James's eyes winded "not" Lily finished.

"And why not?" James asked with one of his twisted smiles, still blocking her way.

"Get out of the way Potter," Lily growled and pushed him away from her. This time James moved. He moved more than Lily anticipated. In fact, she pushed him directly into a strange room – a strange room she had never seen before. It just appeared out of nowhere. And not even a millisecond after she had realized what she had done, James grabbed her hand.

"I fall, you fall Evans," he said. Lily tried pushing him off, but it was too late. They both fell into the mysterious room, one on top of the other. James laughed and Lily scrambled onto her knees, but before she could get up, she heard a voice say something behind her, but she couldn't hear it, because everything started spinning. Faster and faster and faster and landed in the same classroom, only that this time it wasn't empty, but packed with students they had never seen in their lives.

***

Sirius, who was watching everything from under James's cloak, didn't see them appearing.

"Better go and check," he said to himself, as his corrupted started going crazy. He entered the room and saw Lily getting onto her knees. He took his cloak off and amusingly commented: "That was not a very coordinated start now w-?"

But before he could finish his sentence the room started spinning, which caused him too also lose his balance and land on his behind. After a few moments of intense spinning everything stopped and the confused trio could hear voices, unfamiliar voices. Sirius looked around as confused as ever.

"Hel-" Lily proceeded to say, but stopped as a girl with extremely bushy brown hair barged through the classroom door and pulled a boy out of the room and closed the door, although they heard could still hear him say: "What do you want Hermione?"

"My dears," Lily, James and Sirius to their left and saw a very peculiar lady approaching them, "my inner eye tells me you're lost."

"And right you are," James told her, as he tried not to laugh.

"Your inner eye is very talented," Sirius said sarcastically and as he saw all the amused looks from the students, wanted to continue, but was stopped, as James got hold of his collar, took Lily's hand and dragged them both out of the classroom and to the staircase.

"This is all your fault!" Lily cried at James as she freed her hand from his grip.

"What?" James yelped, "you're the one who pushed me."

"And you're the one who provoked me," Lily argued.

"Children, children stop," Sirius interrupted the row, imitating a grown-up, "it is nobody's fault. Nobody knew that this was going to happen-"

"Well everybody except for Mrs. Googly eyes back there," James said chuckling. Sirius also burst out laughing upon hearing his best friends comment.

"Prongs you are distracting me," he said, "what I wanted to say was that we are not in the Hogwarts we know. I didn't recognize a single person in that room. So we have no choice but to stick together."

"Well said Padfoot," James said. A moment later they heard another voice behind them saying 'hello'. They turned around to see the girl who had previously barged into the classroom and pulled away a boy.

"Dumbledore is waiting for you," she said, a strange look taking over her face.

Lily POV

We walked towards Dumbledore's office. Well, Hermione walked towards Dumbledore's office, while me, Potter and Black wobbled behind her, squashed beneath Potters invisibility cloak.

As we finally reached the entrance to the headmaster's office, Hermione gave the grumpy gargoyle the password (pop rocks) and we were able to enter his office.

"I'm Hermione, by the way. Hermione Granger," the girl said as Potter pulled the cloak off us.

"Why nice to meet you Hermione," Black started putting on one of his, shall we say, 'charming' smiles, "I'm S-"

"Oh, I know who you are," said Hermione, as Potter and Black looked at each other with, with 'what in the name of Merlin' written all over them.

"But," Hermione continued, "you must not tell anyone who you are."

"And why not?" Potter asked.

"Because you are in the future," Hermione said and left the office, leaving us alone. I covered my face with my hands. What have we done?
