LIKE IT NEVER HAPPENED - in a comfortable silence.

Lily, James and Sirius stood in front of an old mirror, as Dumbledore waved his wand and removed their disguises. Lily smiled as she looked at James.

"I never thought I would be happy to see your messy hair," she said, and James laughed.

"I'm happy to see it as well," he admitted and brushed his fingers through it, making it even more messy.

"Let's get your last kiss over with," Sirius said impatiently.

"So, you're really going to wipe our memories?" Lily asked Dumbledore and he nodded sadly.

"I'm going to miss you Lily," James told her.

"No, you won't," Lily said, "it's going to be like it never happened."

"But you'll hate me again," James said sadly like a little lost puppy.

"I won't hate you," Lily said slowly, "I just won't like you particularly."

"Stop being such drama queens," Sirius laughed, "you'll get together eventually."

Lily and James looked at each other and smiled.

"Well I think, you are going to get together," Sirius continued, "except if Lily and Snape get together and just name their kid Potter," James glared at him and Sirius smirked.

"That's not going to happen," Lily reassured James before he tackled Sirius to the ground.

"Well I guess that's goodbye Lily," James said and Lily smiled sadly.

"I guess that's goodbye."

"WAIT!" Sirius shouted just before Dumbledore casted the memory charm.

"Have you written 'turn the corridors into swamps' on your hand?" he asked James, who nodded and pulled up his sleeve, to show him.

"I will pretend I didn't see that," Dumbledore smiled and pointed his wand again.

"Okay then," Sirius said happily and looked at Lily, "see you later Lils."

AGAINST THE DARK ARTS - ORDINARY WIZARDING LEVEL

"Five more minutes!

James straightened his back, while putting down his quill and pulling his roll of parchment towards him to reread what he had written. 'This wasn't so hard now was it,' he thought to himself as he flipped through the pages. He stopped at the question: How would you most successfully fight off and infiri? He was stuck between stunning and using light, since both were possibilities. He yawned hugely and rumpled up his hair, making it even messier than it had been and decided to go with using a light or fire spell. Then, with a glance towards Professor Flitwick, he turned in his seat and grinned at Sirius, who sitting four seats behind him. He gave James the thumbs-up. He was tilting it back on two legs. James also noticed a girl sitting behind him was eyeing him hopefully (as usual). James turned back to his exam paper and started doodling on a bit of scrap parchment and decided to draw a Snitch with the letters 'L.E.' for Lily Evans on it. He started fantasizing about her hopefully, thinking about what their first date would look like.

"Quills down, please!" he heard Professor Flitwick say and dropped his quill on his desk, adjusting himself on his chair, "that means you too, Stebbins! Please remain seated while I collect your parchment! Accio!"

James' roll of parchment zoomed into the air and, along with another dozen rolls, flew into Professor Flitwick's outstretched arms, knocking him backwards off his feet. Several people laughed. A couple of students at the front desks got up, took hold of Professor Flitwick beneath the elbows and lifted him back on to his feet.
