One day, James finds a black dog on the Hogwarts grounds. He walks around and talks to it for half an hour before Sirius comes up and is like "James why are you talking to that dog?" And James is so confused and Sirius is—quite frankly—mildly offended. "What, you think I look like that? I am SO much cuter."
Weeks later, Sirius makes the very same mistake with a stag, and James says "COME ON. My antlers are much cooler."
