YOUR POV

"I am not getting you Dunkin' Donuts on my way back!" I scold Tessa over the phone. "Plus, Starbucks is so much better." She wanted me to get her a drink and a couple of non-jellied powdered munchkins. I had stolen her wallet for groceries, I'm not using either for Dunkin' Donuts!

"Did you at least remember the coupons?" She asks, followed by a grunt. I shook my head as if she could see me, open one of the freezer doors and taking out [Favorite Ice Cream Flavor].

"Not at all." Was my reply. And by this, you should be able to realize my memory sucks (mine really does). "What'd you expect?" I ask her. This time I push my shopping cart forward to a different set of freezers, taking out a jug of milk. Tessa lets out a long sigh.

"Well, I'm gonna hang out with Nick. Cory's gone out to get more sugar for his cookies, so yeah." She tells me. That guy was big on baking cookies, you wouldn't believe it. Though the jar of them that he made for us was real delicious!

"Okay. I should be back home in at least twenty minutes or so. Alright?" I inform her over the phone, tossing a bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos in the cart.

"Okey-pokey! See you later!" Tessa giggles, probably high on oxygen once again. We hung up, and I put my device back into my pocket. After grabbing just a couple more items, I went up front and paid. I took the groceries back home and put the food away in fridge, freezer and cupboards.

"Hmmmm . . ." I felt Nick and Tessa would need their alone time, cough cough, wink wink. I was finished with groceries, I cleaned the house and did laundry yesterday too (without the help of Tessa, that lazy—). So, I wrote a note.

   Dear T,
I'm gonna be going on a walk, just in case you might be wondering.

There! That should be good. I taped it to the fridge, so it should easily be spotted. It was a little chilly out, so I grabbed a bright multi-colored sweater to keep me warm and cozy. I ran down the stairs and left the building, though not without waving 'bye' to Uni.

It was actually around five, five-thirty maybe? I look at the clock on my phone. Seven o'clock?! I should be getting home! Tess is probably worried about me! Or lounging on the couch, eating the Doritos and binge watching My Little Pony (Don't judge, l love that show). Yeah, sounds about right.

Walking back home, I hear a sound in a slightly dimmed alleyway. So like anybody with a rather large sense of curiosity, I strolled into it. Doing a full 360 degree turn, I slammed into someone's chest. Don't worry, it was a guy.

"Well, well, well. Look who we have here . . ." The man chuckled darkly, the shadows still covering his facial features. This does not look good.
