At that moment Eric thought he had surely died and that the darkness was simply a journey to the afterlife. But instead it turned out to be a break from the trouble he’d gotten into. In his head Eric remembered the infected, both women, and the dog, who could forget that devilish dog. He wondered what was currently happening to his body. Was it thrown into a distant place for the dead to maul? Or had it been used for the dog's own purposes? Despite all this, Eric knew for certain that he is still alive during these possible situations.

His eyes opened with caution, the light from the lamp above blinded him. Just as expected, a sudden rush of pain overcame his senses and he moaned in agony. He looked down at himself to see the damage done from earlier. His left arm had been bandaged from where he was bitten. And on his head a painful throbbing sensation occurred where the woman knocked him out with her gun. Eric tried to push himself up but felt a slight restraint. Both of his arms and legs are tied down with rope to the edges of the small bed he laid on. They really didn’t trust him after what he has done.

The door creaked opened and the blonde girl he’d seen during incident entered the space carrying a white first aid box. She turned towards him and smiled in relief that he was awake. Her blue eyes looked at him with a welcoming expression; it made Eric fall into a short trance just by looking at her.

“Yay you are awake! I was really worried Alessia had hurt you very badly. Your head didn’t stop bleeding for a little while after she hit you. I had to use one of my spare shirts to try and stop it. Oh by the way my name is Lucy! What’s yours?” The girl got on her knees and started removing Eric’s bandages while humming happily.

“My name is Eric, so that person from earlier…her name is Alessia?” Eric asked curious to know more about the girl who had almost killed him.

“Yup, we are very close friends and have always stuck together ever since…you know, the infection.” , Lucy’s expression dimmed a little when she said that but then returned to her normal cheerful state.

As Lucy worked on tending to his wounds he took the time to examine her at quick glances. Her bright blonde enhanced her blue sea eyes. Lucy also had a very nice curvy figure that is shown off with her halfway white tank top and jean shorts that stretched with her body. Every once in a while Lucy would have to bend over him which caused her to brush over Eric’s body sending sudden jolts of excitement inside of him. Though what interest him more about Lucy is that despite breaking into her shelter and causing a scene, she showed no sign of hatred towards him.

Eric took a deep nervous breath, “Lucy, if it means anything right now, I’m sorry for what I did.”

Lucy looked up from bandaging his arm again, “Oh you don’t have to worry, I knew you were in trouble and that you didn’t know we lived here. You were just scared and trying to defend yourself. Though I’m actually glad you came, it’s quite depressed in here with just me, Alessia, and Max. I’m actually the one who begged Lucy to let you live, she was going to take you out and shoot you in the head.”

After hearing this Eric felt a new sense of gratitude towards Lucy, she was the one who saved his life in the end. “Thank you. It is really generous of you to have done that for me. Such a beautiful kind person like you doesn’t deserve to live in a hell like this.”
Lucy cheeks turned red, “Beautiful?” she whispered to herself, “Y-Your welcome, it was nothing really at all. It just gets boring sometimes with just Alessia around here.”

“By the way, where is Alessia?,” Eric asked looking around to see if she is around the small space.

“Alessia is on the roof of the barn, that’s where she always stays at during the day. Always saying that’s she’s watching out for any danger, which is how she quickly went down to help you. But sometimes I just think she just goes up there to be alone,” Lucy got up on her feet and lean over to his arm to reach to the rope around it. She then untied the rope along with the other in his arms and legs. Eric stood up and stretched his arms upwards almost reaching the ceiling. Lucy handed him his shirt with a red face, Eric hadn’t noticed it was gone and laughed.
