Alessia felt relieved but at the same time worried for Lucy and her safety. Eric was really pushing his good guy side towards her which made her uneasy. Especially when they haven't had any human contact for almost a month and a half. Well friendly contact for that matter.

She walked inside the small mobile home they lived in. It was here in the barn when Alessia and Lucy both arrived at the barn. Despite encountering two creatures inside the barn the mobile home was empty and clean. To them it is a place of salvation from all the horror in the outside world.

Alessia removed her checkered long sleeve and hanged it on one of the window blinds. She kept on her black tank top but removed her jeans since they were uncomfortable for sleeping. Her eyes caught sight of Lucy, she laid huddled near the edge of the bed. In contrast with Alessia, Lucy didn't hesitate to remove both her top and shorts. The little space became extremely warm, even with just two bodies and a dog.

Lucy had left Alessia enough room for her to fit on the small bed. She crawled carefully on top of the cushion as she tried to avoid waking Lucy up. Alessia laid her head on the pillow, or Max to more specific. The night felt peaceful for once, and not like a fight for survival. In her head Alessia imagined that her and Lucy were just two friends on a camping trip. They are doing wilderness things like making tools, searching for food and keeping their guard up at all times. It is just for fun, there's no need for it.

But Alessia shook her head, this wasn't a camping trip. They were two friends that had to escape their homes because of a virus that started to turn people into violent maniacs. And this wasn't no friendly forest, this is a barn in the middle of nowhere far from any urban area. Looking for any decent supplies or food is considered a death trip because they both know that it isn't possible. They aren't that strong to wander that far away from their new home.

And Lucy, Alessia hated to admit it but Lucy would have been dead if she wasn't watching her back all the time. Lucy would the person to break down and cry if she was surrounded by creatures instead of fighting back. Lucy is the person to create a small fantasy in her mind to push away the true reality. Lucy is someone who had lost their happiness a long time ago, and held a fake smile ever since.

Though Alessia also had her own problems, but she knew how to learn from them. But Lucy is the only person who could see right through. Alessia remembered that day when she and Lucy go into a fight. Alessia’s words cut deep into Lucy that it instantly broke her into tears and a depression for almost a week.

From that day Alessia began doing guard duty on the roof. All day and every day, putting as much distance between her and Lucy.

But when Eric came a sudden rush flowed through her. Like a sign of change arriving to their lives. And tonight's the night it starts.

Alessia closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep. This is actually the first night she and Lucy had slept together in a few weeks. It made her wondered what other things laid ahead.
