I wake up in my bed the next morning, still in Kyo's shirt. Smiling I close my eyes for a few minutes to picture Kyo. I have been crushing on him for almost two years and we finally take that step into a relationship.
When I hear knocking on my door frame I open my eyes. Kai stands there leaning on the wood door frame dressed in the school uniform. "You okay?"
I nod, "Yeah, just thinking."
"Well it's time to get up, Kyo's here and waiting for you." Kai pushes himself off the frame and brushing his shoulder off.
"Kyo's here!?" I quickly go to get out of my bed but my legs give out from underneath me, and I topple to the floor like a brick.
"Akira!" Kai runs over to me helping me sit up, "What's wrong?"
"My body feels like jello, I can't stand up." I mumble as Azusa walks in front of my door.
"You okay there tiger?" His tone shows he doesn't care, he's just being himself.
"Here." Kai holds his hands out to me.
I willingly take them letting him pull me to my feet. My legs feel wobbly as I stand only I end up falling straight into Kai, sending him falling backwards.
"I've always got amusment out of watching this." Azusa laughs. He crosses his arms, a smile painted on his lips.
"Is everything okay up here?" Kyo's voice sounds from the hallway.
"Yes, everything is great." I say rushed.
I push myself off Kai and force my legs to work correctly. Kyo walks into my room and frowns. He places his hand on my forehead then my cheek.
"Do you feel okay?" Kyo runs his fingers through my hair moving closer to me.
"Im just a little weak right now." I can feel my legs trying to give under my weight until he slides his arm around my waist.
"How about we ditch today?" Kyo smiles lightly pulling me against him.
"I'm fine." I wrap an arm around his neck leaving the other hand against his chest.
"You're really pale Akira." Kai points out.
"He's right, you don't look well." Azusa musses from my door way. "Maybe you should rest."
"That actually sounds like a good idea." Kyo nods.
I push on his chest lightly, Kyo getting I want him to let go. "I'm okay Kyo, it's just part of my curse."
His arms drop to his side and he sighs. His eyes drop to my legs and I realize I'm just in his shirt he let me borrow.
"I think I'm going to get dressed now." I bite my lip avoiding Kyo's eyes.
"Uh yeah, that would probably be a good idea." His cheeks blush some but he looks down in attempt to hide it.
Kissing his cheek I smile. "I'll see you in a few minutes."
-----I decided to give into Kyo's suggestion and ditch school with him today. Even though I feel bad for leaving Kai alone with Azusa, he insisted I go.
"Are you hungry?" Kyo asks.
At the thought of food my stomach made a sickening flip. "Not unless you want money wasted when it comes back up."
"Are you sure you don't want to just rest today?" Kyo reaches for my hand but only wraps two of his fingers around one of mine.
"It would only make it worse." I sigh and smile at our hands. "I'm a little better now though."
"Good." He intertwines our finger all he way and pulls me closer. "I don't like seeing you like that."
We walk around town holding hands and smiling. My long hair finally getting annoying, so I half braid it then put it in a ponytail. Kyo stops us at a little bridge on a trail in a park, no one else but the two of us are even out here.
Kyo watches as I climb the railing and sit facing the river underneath the bridge. "Do you ever get lonely? With your parents gone and all."
"Yes." I frown and look down at the water. "I was young when they passed, but I still remember how it felt when I was told."
I continue to look at the river flowing beneath me. I hadn't realized I was crying until Kyo wrapped his arms around me. My arms being trapped by his, the orange head of hair pressing against my head.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked." Kyo whispers. He kisses my jaw before I turn around carefully to face him.
"It's okay." My legs dangle on either side of him. I wrap my arms around his neck and smile.
Kyo steps closer so our bodies are pressed together, him between my legs. "I should probably tell you."
"Tell me what?" I ask.
"There's a girl who has her mind set on marrying me, but I don't like her back." Kyo looks into my eyes. I'm actually quite a bit shorter than he is, so the railing of the bridge get me up to the same height.
"Okay..... am I suppose to be jealous?" I laugh a little trying to make it seem like I don't care even though I really do.
"No I just wanted to tell you in case she comes to Shigure's while you're there." He intertwines ours fingers, kisses my forehead, then wraps me up in his arms.
"What's her name?" I hold onto his jacket smiling.
"Kagura." He breathes.
"Do you know when she'll show up again?" I watch as an older couple with their dog walk by, the woman smiles at me.
"Most of the time she just shows up." Kyo shurgs, his hands rest on my hips. "But my birthday is in two days, so she will probably make an appearance."
I gasp, "Your birthday is in two day!?" I hope off the railing, my body being squashed in between his and my preveous perch. "Is there something you want?"
He shakes his head, "I already have everything I wanted."
I smile knowing he means me. "So you don't care?"
"Don't get me anything, I don't want you speading money you could use on your self." Kyo brings his hand up to cheek, his thumb brushes across my bottom lip. "In fact spend money on yourself for my birthday, that's a good present."
"But-"
He cuts me off by pressing his lips to mine. "No spending money on me!"
"Fine." I sigh hugging my boyfriend.
Boyfriend.
I probably will never get used to saying that. Kyo is my boyfriend.
