It had felt like hours to Usileth, but it really had only been a few moments and soon the blizzard died down. Karn was gone and Whitlock was laying on the ground. Usileth ran over as fast as she could get to him in the knee deep snow. When she reached him he was unconscious and bleeding very badly from his wounds. Usileth summoned all the strength she could in the healing spell, but it was only enough to wake him up and stop the bleeding barely. "Heh.... Looks like.... He got me...." Whitlock said as he managed a small grin while weakly running his fingers through her hair before dropping his arm. "Whitlock please.. I'm going to get you out of here." Usileth said softly while grabbing his hand.
"It's too late.... The blade... It's foul magic cut deep into me.....I can feel it... Tearing me apart.... The light is.... Leaving.... Me" Whitlock coughed out some blood. "Please don't go.." Usileth stuttered out as she sobbed. "He... Was the one.... Wasn't he?" Whitlock asked and Usileth couldn't answer. "Maybe... You can't... Save me.... But maybe... You can save..... Him" Whitlock smiled. "You.... Deserve to..... Be happy....." he spurted out more blood.
Then he smiled and said, "goodbye Usileth..... It was... Nice knowing.....yo........." then silence. Usileth began crying her eyes out. Whitlock was gone, killed by the one she used to love.
After burying Whitlock next to a small sappling in the woods Usileth wiped her face and headed off back towards Vallance Keep. She closed her eyes and remembered the first time she met Whitlock. It was only after she had become a full druid. She was to be his partner on their travels together as ordered by the king. "So.. Your the druid? That's great I'm Whitlock Lightshope" the paladin said while extending his hand towards the young druid. "I'm Usileth Feathermoon. Nice to meet you too" Usileth said while putting her hands together and bowing to the human instead of shaking his hand.
"Hmm... Well we should probably go they are expecting us at Theramore anytime now. It's a really long walk there haha." Whitlock said while rubbing his head. Usileth couldn't understand this human why was he acting so weird but she just went with it. "Actually I can get us there faster." Usileth said while Whitlock just stood there looking at her kind of funny. "What do you mean?" He asked.
"Just watch, and you'll see." She responded. So Whitlock stood behind her and Usileth began casting the spell she had learned from Jaina Proudmoore herself. And within seconds they appeared in Theramore isle. Whitlock was stunned he thought only mages could teleport people. "So where are we going?" Usileth asked the human. Whitlock snapped back to reality, "Oh yeah.. Right. We are going to the guard captain who's at the inn." Usileth nodded and she went straight towards the inn without even waiting for Whitlock.
He quickly caught up to Usileth and they entered the inn together. Whitlock scanned the room looking for the captain and eventually spotting him at the counter. Whitlock pointed to him and Usileth and himself walked over to the captain. "Good your here." The captain greeted them. "Yep now what do you need done?" Whitlock asked abruptly. Which caused Usileth to look at him scornfully.
"What he meant was how can we help you sir?" Usileth asked charismatically which caused Whitlock to look at her with a little anger. "Well were having problems with some uhh.. 'The captain leaned in closer to them' undead.." Whitlock didn't seem phased but Usileth froze on the spot. This caused Whitlock to look at her curiously.
"Are you alright?" He asked her. Then finally Usileth snapped out of her trance and shook her head. "Great so can you help us?" The captain asked them. "Of course" Usileth responded which scared both Whitlock and the captain. So Usileth and Whitlock set out towards the marshes. "There's been alot of undead sightings around Azeroth these past few weeks. But no one knows why." Whitlock said
"They've been seen all over town's and villages and even the forests." Usileth didn't say a word she just kept going hoping Whitlock would stop talking about them. Whitlock must have sensed this and decided to ask her a question she was not prepared for. "So what happened between you and them?" Whitlock asked bruntly. Usileth didn't answer for a few good minutes. "I'm sorry if i-" Whitlock was cut off.
"The man I loved was murdered by these monsters..." Usileth answered. Whitlock stopped walking and looked back at her. "I'm sorry i didn't mean to...." Whitlock started but stopped. "It's ok I just wish I could have been strong enough to save him" Usileth said while grabbing her hand tighter. Whitlock walked over to her and grabbed her shoulder. "Hey it's going to be alright, you know... These undead have killed someone I loved to." Whitlock said causing Usileth to look up at him.
"They killed my brother, Brodrick, right before my eyes. But he saved me so that I could live." Whitlock said wiping a tear away from Usileths eyes. "He saved me to... The man I loved." She said then she began to break down and tell Whitlock everything, he promised to keep it all a secret.
Just then Usileth snapped back to reality. She just realized she had been walking for almost three hours straight and was already within eye sight of Vallance Keep. She sighed a sigh of relief. But then she turned suddenly to a giant creature running towards her and smashing something on her head. She was out cold.
