Chapter 14

"Are you sure your okay?" JJ asks for the second time.

"Yeah I'm fine, it's just a bunch of bruises." I say brushing her off.

"Nicole you were almost raped." JJ says making me frown.

"Can we not talk about it anymore?" I ask.

"Fine..." JJ says.

We are on the jet, the case is over, and Spencer and I are okay. Now I can actually breathe

I look at my phone to check the time. It's about midnight. Looking around, I see Morgan and Rossi are asleep, but Hotch is looking out the window and Reid's nose is stuck in a book, per usual.

"I'm going to go talk to Hotch." I say getting up from the cushioned seat.

I walk to the back of the jet where he is sitting alone.

"Hi." I say sitting in the seat in front of him.

"Hey." Hotch says looking at me. "How are you doing?"

"I'm good, I might need to talk a few days off." I say.

"It's understandable." He says. "Maybe you and Reid should talk, I'm sure it would make you both feel better."

"Why do I need to feel better, I feel amazing." I say sarcastically, Hotch smiles which surprises me.

"You smiled!" I point out.

"It happens." He says smiling looking down the the file in front of him.

"I'm going to go sit back down, are you going to sleep?" I ask before getting up.

"I think you are in more need of sleep than me." Hotch says.

Smiling I get up and sit in the outside seat across from JJ, who fell asleep.

"Hey." I say getting Spencer's attention.

He looks up from his book at me expectingly.

"Are you going to take any time off?" I ask.

"Yeah, maybe a few days. You?" He asks and I nod.

I stand up again and sit next to him on the bench.

"What are you reading?" I ask tucking my feet under my butt.

"Uhh, To Kill a Mockingbird." He says licking his lips and turning the book over to see the cover.

"I love that one." I say smiling.

"It's a good read." He says.

"So, does it get better?" I ask.

"What? The book? Or being kidnapped?" He asks.

"Being kidnapped." I clarify.

"Give it some time." He say assuringly.

"If you need to please talk to me."

"Only if you do Nicky."

"What part are you at?" I ask.

"The beginning."

"Want to read it to me?" I ask.

"Sure."

He reads to me till we both fall asleep. I wake up to someone shaking me and open my eyes and see Morgan.

"Come on Summerway." He says. "And you too pretty boy."

Once as we get off the jet everybody heads to the BAU building.
