Today is day two of my life as a guardian of the balance of life and death. I couldn't sleep a wink I had a lot on my mind it was a secret that I had promised to my friend Shizu that I never tell another living soul and now my new partner, Jane,  that turns into any weapon I need, she knows. Then again she's not a living soul. Is she? I didn't ponder on what didn't matter to the situation. The important thing is that I technically didn't tell her so I kept that promise but I knew sooner or later we'd have to talk about boundaries in the whole "no reading my mind" thing.

"I know you don't like me reading your mind at my leisure but it's my job. To keep you from thinking about using this power for evil" she said as we were starring into the sunset. "I've seen parts you don't want me to but don't worry I didn't look any further than that I promise."

"You lie" I say to her with a small smile on my face "you've seen it all, why I'm doing this, who I'm doing it for, all my secrets" I look at her. She was laying down black pants warring a mini skirt. As I saw her face she seemed to be blushing, and had a sad yet self-disappointed look on her face. "Your right" she said tears rolling down her face "I do know. I just liked it when you complimented me it made me feel good inside" she began to blush a deep shade of red almost crimson.

"Hey don't cry Jane. It's not like I hate you or anything" I tried to comfort her the only way I knew how. I could tell it in her voice, her eyes, and soul. She was in love with me, and unthinkably I was in love with her.

"I'm just a terrible person to be around. Who am I kidding I'm not even a person" Jane said with a sob. I held her close and kept petting her head. She looked so elegant in the sunlight, her light brown hair sparkled like she just got out of a shower, her black dress was sparkling just as much, like the night sky. She was beautiful it was amazing.

I had her held close seeing she was just like my friend Shizu. Caring and passionate about me. Then I remembered about her secret "I guess since your not a person I can tell you. I did only promise not not to tell another living soul" I began to tell her how Shizu told me. Shizu said that long ago her family was thought to have been devil worshipers because they thought if they praised him they would be spared from his wrath. Now that I had to defend the world from him I knew that they were wrong.

"So that's where he got his power from the first time" Jane was talking like she had come to a greater understanding from when she read my thoughts the first time. I found it strange that she had come to a realization about a while after she read my mind. "I thought you already knew when you read my mind" I had asked with great concern. "I didn't understand it at first but now..." her voice seemed to trail off.

BOOM!!!!

A huge explosion went off at the north end of the school. "Another attack?" I found it odd that there would be an attack now instead when everyone was at the school. "Weapon up" I said to Jane as if it were an order. She reverted to a scythe and we were off to fight again.
