Evelyn and I finished our dinner together and we walked outside, exploring the streets of Madrid.
'My friends are asking how you are now, so how do you feel?' I asked Evelyn as we walked side by side, and hand in hand.
Evelyn looked up and she expressed herself happily, 'They asked about me? Can I meet them sometime soon?'
I looked at how happy she looked and responded, 'Yeah, sure, I'd even show you to my parents.'
She smiled but made a face, 'A bit far, don't you think?'
I laughed it off as we walked but that really hurt me, like real bad. I was imaging us two in the future but she probably only thought of me as one of those short-term boyfriends.
