Surprises // chapter 6

Laura:

I woke up to find everyone else awake, silently chatting and laughing around me. "Morning!" They all chirped at some point. "What's the time?" I said sitting up. "10.30" brad looked up at me from the floor where he was sitting. My eyes widened and I sat upright preeetttyyyy quickly. "Are you alright?" James asked from beside me. "I'm 15 minutes late for work shit" I got up and ran to get changed.

"Sorry guys, have a nice day!" I poked my head back around the door. "Wait!" James shouted and got up. He ran over to me and hugged me. "Thanks for last night, I had an amazing time" he said, looking right into my eyes. "So did I but I really have to go, I'll see you later, promise" I said, giving him a quick peck. "Go put a top on too, can't have any of these stealing you can I" I smirked and poked his abs . "Bye guys! My shift ends at 3ish so you can come down just before then if you like!" I shouted, walking out the front door.

"I'm so so sorry!" I said speed walking in and putting my bag in the back room. I grabbed my apron and walked out. "As long as it doesn't happen again Laura, now you can go and wash up" I smiled and nodded at his request and walked over to the sink. I sighed as I started running the warm water. This just reminded me of when James came to help me dry up. I smiled at the memory and put some washing up liquid in the water. This was going to be a long day.

"You can have a break now!" Thank god! It was now 12 so I grabbed myself a sandwich and a bottle of water and walked out the back.

I sat down for the first time in what felt like forever and checked my phone , seeing I had a text from Tris, it read:

'Having fun? ;) we'll be down at 2.30 ish, James says he feels lonely! See you soon xx'

I just smiled and replied:

'No this is the first time I've sat down in 2 hours! At least I'm out earning money! ;) yay something to look forward to! Haha bless him. Will do xx'

I smiled and closed my messaging and checked through the usual Facebook, twitter and Instagram. I looked at the clock on the wall and it was 20 past 12. Lunch is normally an hour but I thought I'd go back early, it might make time go quicker.

I stood up and put my water in my bag and sandwich box in the bin and went back out the front.

Time really does know how to drag. It was now slowly nearing 2.25 and I had just an inch of hope that they'd turn up early but who am I kidding, they're never early! I went to clear up the table in the far corner as there's nothing better to do.

As I leant over the table, placing all the mugs and saucers onto the tray I felt two people hug me. What? I turned around to see no other than the famous curls of Brad on my left and Connor on my right. "Leave that there you're coming with us" Connor said as they both grabbed a hand and dragged me out the shop. "What about my bag?? Does my boss know??" I said, looking back panicking. "We've got it covered don't worry" Brad reassured me. I looked back to see James walking out of the back room with my coat on and my bag slung over his shoulder.

"LAURA" Lucy, Charlie and Ellie came running up to me. "Tell us EVERYTHING" Ellie said eagerly. "about?" "Last night!!" Lucy reminded me. Oh god yeah! I turned around to see James still in my coat, taking a selfie on my phone and the other three chatting. "I'll tell you when we get home" I smiled at them, walking back over to the boys.

"So what made you pull me out of work half hour early?" I raised my eyebrows at them as Lucy, Ellie and Charlie came to join our little circle. "Well.." Ellie started. "James was not letting us kiss because he said he felt like a third wheel didn't ya Jems?" Tristan nodded at James who was now stood behind me resting his chin on my head. Height difference was a charmer. I just laughed. "AND-" Brad shouted. "They're err filming a cover and wanted you to watch aswell!" Charlie finished Brads sentence, leaving him looking a bit shocked. Hmm something didn't seem quite right.

"Are you sure you're just filming a cover? Nothing else?" I said, finally getting my coat back from James. "Preeetttyyyy positive" Connor said. "BAND MEETING, NOW" Tristan virtually shouted. "Woah" Lucy said, putting her hands up slightly. "Someone got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning" she continued. "Maybe cause you were on his happy side!" I joked. Luckily she laughed slightly at it. "So are they really doing a cover?" I emphasised on the really. "Er yeah, why wouldn't they be?" Ellie replied suspiciously. "No reason" i smiled. "Are you quite done yet?" Charlie said poking her head onto Brads shoulder. "Yeah we are actually" James said and they broke part of their little circle. "About time too!" Lucy said walking over to Tristan, wrapping her arms around him.

"Lets roll then!" Connor started walking, grabbing Ellie's hand. I put my hands into my coat pockets and walked up to James. "Alright?" He asked. "Of course, even better now" I smiled and looked into his eyes. "Good " he put his hand into my pocket and held my hand as we walked next to Lucy and Tristan. "Where are we heading then?" I looked next to me at Lucy. "To ours to grab some stuff, then to film this cover eh tris!" She nudged him. "Yeah, yeah" he smiled back at me.

"Keys?" Charlie asked with her hand held out. "Oh yeah, here" I smiled, yanking them out of my bag. She unlocked the door and we walked up a couple of flights of stairs to our flat, which Charlie unlocked again. We all walked in and I went to my bedroom to get changed. I opened my draws and a good half of my clothes were gone. What?! I shrugged and got my older acid wash jeans out with a white vest and a checkered shirt which I left undone.

I walked back into the lounge to find James lifting suitcases out of the cupboard, passing them to Brad who passed it to Charlie then to Tristan and then Lucy who was lining them up at the door. I just stood there not saying a word, in awe of what I was witnessing. "Guys..." I started and they just froze on the spot, apart from James who poked his head out of the cupboard. "Where's Ellie and Connor?" I said slower than I usually would do, continuing myself. "They've gone back to Connors for a bit but we're going to get them soon" Lucy said. "Oh and what's with the suitcases?" I pointed to them all by the door and the one that had just got to Brad. "Who's saying it?" Charlie looked at the other 4. "Ladies?" Tristan basically told them to tell me. "Okay okay well we're going on holiday!! We have to stay at the airport tonight but yeah!" Lucy chirped. Oh my god. "I love you guys!" I ran over to them as a grin appeared on my face. We all pulled into a massive group hug. "We love you too" Charlie looked up at me smiling. "Yeah, especially this one" Brad winked, nudging James. My smile somehow got bigger. "So how was your date then? You've still gotta tell us and you're not getting out of it this time!" Lucy said, sitting down on a suitcase. "Yeah it was alright..I guess" I looked at James who was just looking at the others. "So, what 'terms' are you on then?" Tristan asked rather forwardly. "Oh well, you know" James started and he walked over to me. "This" he stopped walking and looking at the others and turned his attention to me. He gently held my waist and I rested my hands on the back of his neck and we both leaned in. Our lips collided and moved in sync. The kiss gradually got more and more passionate as we both got lost in the moment. "Get a room!" I heard brad shout as a pillow hit my head. "Does that explain the 'terms' then tris?" I raised my eyebrows. "Yeah, but have you actually asked her out yet?" Tristan said to James. "Yeah, get with it mate" James let a smile slip onto his face. "Get in there Jems!" Brad patted James on the shoulder. "Go on Laura!" Lucy came over and hugged me. "Thanks guys, so, lets get ready to roll!" I almost squealed. Excited was not the word to describe how I was feeling right now.
