Re:Zero SUBARU X REM

Chapter 2

Subaru continued sweeping piles of dust off the floor with his broom, very tired and anxious for Emilia to return back to Roswaal's Palace with him, Beatrice, and the sister maids. It was his final day before he got his "vacation" time at the mansion. Although, when Rem was around Subaru, it made his day even better....

"Emilia-tan will return soon right Rem?" he asked, very curious and anxious.

"Yes, I believe so. In the meantime, I think you should try finishing up these chores soon Subaru-kun." Rem replied using a passionate smile, then immediately returns to her cleaning. Is something up with her? Nah, just weary about the whole situation probably. I guess I better get done soon or else Emilia will be pissed.

"Hey R-Rem, do you t-think I could maybe...um...-"

"Yes, my hero. You may take the day off." she winked. Subaru's happiness flew through the roof, he hugged her tightly trying to wash away his joyful tears.

"AWWWW SWEET! Thanks Remmy, you're the beeeeeest!" he cheered on, picking her up as if she was lighter than a candy wrapper. The two flushed, staring at each other excited. Subaru leaned onto Rem just as she's about to evade him, so she could get back to work; fortunately, she didn't care.

"S-Subaru, again?" she blushed playing with his hair frequently, trying to settle him down. Since he couldn't control his body from all the bouncing up and down he did. It made her laugh. They both stare into each other's eyes, wondering all the possibilities of a happy life they could have together. Anything is possible so why not? They could start here; let's hope Emilia doesn't screech if they start kissing.

Anyway, time passed and nothing else took place of their little romantic moment.

"Subaru...do you really love me?" Rem questioned feeling confused and concerned.

"Obviously, I mean....who would let me off easy on a workday before my long vacation?! Only a perfect girl would- you." he grinned, pushing his head closer to her face for a kiss. She feels uncomfortable, but she goes with the motion and kisses him on the lips; even though they we're completely alone together.

"Um...Subaru?" she questioned.

"Yes my lady?" he winked, brushing a piece of her hair back in place. The entire mansion was silent and they look at each other in complete amusement.

"Hmm, I've been thinking lately...It's alright if you dislike the idea but...- would you run away with me?!!" her eyes widen hoping her plan would succeed and her life would be as beautiful as a glassy lake.

"OH-" Subaru was shocked, amaze, and heart-warmed. He'd never had the thought of running away with someone so great like this. It was as if his happiest time was finally coming to him after all the deaths he's been through with 'Return by Death'.

"Sure...why not my princess? I shall try my best to do whatever it is you need. Let's try this plan of yours." he spoke in a clever, funny tone. Finally, it was like her heart filled up in a pink substance. The pink cloud of- love. The one she truly adored, was finally going to stay with Rem till time ended.
