Re:Zero SUBARU X REM

Chapter 6

Subaru and Rem stepped into a field of dew grass, gigantic trees, and a pond dug right in the middle of the park. A scent of cherry blossoms and pumpkin spice filled up the area at noon. Again, Subaru and Rem continued walking through the park.

"Where is everyone?" Rem questioned Subaru while gripping tightly on his right arm, feeling anxious.

"Whoa," he responded considering the absence of everybody in the large community-area. It seems it startled Subaru more than Rem being confused and somewhat joyful. "oh well, at least we're all alone now my princess." Subaru rested his chin on top of her head, closing both eyes to enjoy every second in this moment. Apparently no one was bothered by the romance stirring up in the park, from all the citizens being "outside" this area.

"Eh... Subaru... you've been so passionate these last few days? Is something up?" Rem smiled back, without being concerned about everything.

"It's because I DO love you Remmy. All the time I think about how I started off, being a complete jerk to everyone. But once I got to the palace, my life changed. I became someone better. And with this gift, I want to protect Rem-san." he informed her, giving Rem a hug. It was a strong hug. Like the ones you feel when you haven't seen someone in years; that type.

"You're so astonishing Subaru, I feel forever grateful to have someone so great like you at my side." she brushed her hair to the side like always. Subaru looks lower as he kisses her gently on the forehead, making her almost tremble.

"I feel... so alive...." she responded.

"So do I." Subaru grinned, bringing her in for another hug. 

Afterward, Rem & Subaru went near the lake to examine the birds laying over. Rem laughed as he made jokes, did embarrassing things, and kissed her multiple times on the cheek. One time Subaru almost fell completely in the pond with all the ducks, which made little Rem giggle so much her face was flushed.

"Oh come on! You think I've given up so easily?" Subaru chuckled lifting himself up off the water, patting down his wet attire.

"It seems so." she smirked.

"Well well, let's see how that will work out." he winked, retreating back toward Rem. After this moment, they went over to one of the fenced in areas near the park. They saw a cute dog panting on the barrier. (Luckily, the dog was inside the park so it couldn't be any time of harmful beast.

"Rem-san what are you doing?" questioned Subaru as they reached the poor puppy. Suddenly, Rem started petting the dog as it got closer to her. The two begin interacting with each other leaving Subaru behind, in this wonder world.

"So how's this little guy treating you princess?" he petted the dog on the head, but as he did, he got bit from the animal. Blood began leaking from the cut on his fingers, caused by the pet. Rem laughed watching how Subaru took it too serious.

"Uh r-really?" Subaru just laughed off the injury, grinning at Rem when she rested her head on his shoulder. She tugged on his arm, almost hugging it like a comfortable body pillow. Subaru blushed and completely forgot about the animal trying to bite him twice.

"You know I adore every little detail of you, right Rem? I'll always love each and every bit of you till the end of time." he told Rem, kissing her on the top of her head gingerly. Rem chuckled and fixed her way even closer on Subaru.

"I'll believe you no matter what Subaru, you just got to promise you'll never die." her cheeks now were squished cutely all over his arm. Therefore, Subaru and Rem continued laying under the golden apricot sun, being brushed with chilly wind and smells of delicious blueberries.

"Hey Rem," Subaru said.

"Yes my hero?" she gave him a quick smile.

"Do you think your sister is going to be alright now? I mean, we did run away from the palace for a bit.... and so I believe she might be-"

"It'll be alright, I know my sister, Ram, she'll understand." Rem responded being quite sure after she interrupted him.

"Hehe... I hope so." Subaru answered, playing with Rem's blue cotton candy hair. "Do you want to eat somewhere? This place is brilliant! We should totally grab a meal Remmy. What do you think? My treat." It took her a second to think it through, (like money wise) but she came to Subaru's conclusion: yes.

"Sure, I'd love to eat with you." she replies when sunlight hits her hair, shining it so dazzling that it makes the moment spectacular. Tears of happiness begin to fall from her eyes, to her cheeks. Her face lights up like a newly picked cherry, and she kisses Subaru right on the nose. Thus, started their real date in the wonderful maroon evening sky.
