A cry of pain echoed around the dark chamber I was in. Electricity crackled, fire burned, and acid fizzed. I closed my eyes, fighting against the visions pounding behind my eyes.
A girl screaming in pain as acid covered her
The same girl, sitting in an electric chair, waiting for someone to pull the lever to start it
The girl, screaming as she was pushed into a pit of lava
I waited and waited until the screaming ended. And when it did I feared that I knew what had happened. The door to my dark chamber opened, and I was blinded by the light.
"You pathetic weakling. I see you, cowering in the dark. Leave this place. I have no use for you, now that your trainer is dead."
I didn't look to see who it was. I didn't care who it was. I didn't want to believe what had happened. So I ran. And ran and ran and ran until the tears came. And then I kept running and running and running until I realized that I had nowhere to go. And then I stopped and cried. And I let the last vision I would see for a long time come to my eyes.
The dead twisted form of the girl, burn marks all over her body. And my pokeball, burned and scorched.
"Haha," I laughed weakly. "I guess I'm wild again," I whispered softly.
Then I laid down and went to sleep. A tortured sleep, revolving around the dead, twisted, burned, body, and my scorched pokeball.
I woke up and looked around. I was surrounded by peculiar trees. With purple leaves that seemed to sparkle. The bushes shimmered, and the grass looked, well, weird. It was a soft indigo, that waved in the soft breeze.
"You seem mystified," came a voice from behind me.
I immediately reacted, and shot a weak moonblast at the stranger. A blue forcefield encased the strange pokemon as I preformed the move. The forcefield disappeared in a flash of blue energy, and in its place stood a shiny Gardevoir. I stood in awe as she laughed.
"Quite the performance eh? I am Shimmer, and this is my home," Shimmer said.
"Wha-who-wha?" I stuttered.
The shiny embrace pokemon laughed again. She twirled the black part of her dress-like body, and laughed some more.
" You can be my sister now!" she said, ad a flash of fear glinted in her eyes. I was good at noticing these types of things. To most pokemon a slight look to the right, or a quick blink meant nothing. But to me it meant the pokemon was lying, or that pokemon didn't believe you. That flash of fear showed me everything.
"Don't worry Shimmer. You don't have to be alone anymore," I said softly. And then she embraced me and I embraced her. And then the thought hit me. I didn't have to be alone either.
