Chapter 2: Disturbance

The rest of the moon gathering passed in a violet blur. Gardevoir put on a show of Moonblast and Moonbeam. Gallade fought in a show of strength, using Psycho Cut and Jump Kick. Many Pokémon went to sleep in pairs. But I fell asleep alone.

Blade, his face creased with worry as he ran. Ran from something, anything. He was panting, gasping for every breath. He stopped, confused. His head turned and he looked straight at me.

"Stella wakeup! You have to wakeup!"

I shot up, drenched in sweat. I looked around and surveyed my surrounding.

To the right, it was quiet. To the left, it was quiet. As I looked behind me, a leaf blade flew over my head. I screamed and scrambled to stand up and find Shimmer. She was right in front of me, battling with a Serperior.

"A little help please!?!" Shimmer screamed frantically. I nodded and held the snakelike Pokémon in the air with Psychic. Shimmer then rained down on him with a barrage of Moonblast. When the smoke cleared, he was unconscious.

Shimmer, weak from battling, stumbled over to me. She opened her mouth to speak, but someone spoke over her.

"You poor poor thing. You poor worthless thing," a cruel voice sneered. I froze, and a horrible feeling of dread slithered up my spine, as the voice revealed its owner. Memories pounded against my skull as the blue haired trainer laughed and stepped into the light.

It was night as my trainer and I ran, using the cover of the trees and the darkness. We ran into a moon filled clearing and looked back. Suddenly, a fireball blazed over our heads as an Emboar stepped out of the darkness.

"Use Moonblast!" my trainer called desperately. I complied, releasing the ball of silver light at the fire type. It merely grunted and pushed it aside. My trainer and froze with fear as the blue haired trainer who had been hunting us stepped into the light. My other teammates, a quite but ferocious Gallade and an energetic Eevee appeared by my side. We stood in front of trainer, ready to die for her.
