I watched the trees fly past the windows of my dad's car. I was annoyed. I didn't want to go.

But Garroth was holding my hand the entire ride as he took his nap on my shoulder, so it wasn't complete purgatory.

"Aphmau, cheer up. It's only going to take less than an hour. They're just going to ask some questions and you'll be out the door before you know it."

I glanced at my dad through the rear mirror. I didn't respond to him. I just looked back out the window.

"Come on, as soon as we're done, you'll be able to let it go and forget about it all."

It's easier said than done, dad.

"Is Aph being cranky again?" Garroth took is head off my shoulder and squeezed my hand lightly. "You promised me you would be happy until we got home."

"I am happy. I'm... just tired. I just want to go home." I responded.

"Well honey, you know that the court won't let me ignore this issue. We don't need the government getting even more involved with us--"

"I don't even know why they want answers. If I didn't do anything, I was going to get taken again. What else was I supposed to do..?" I interrupted my dad. Even the thought of a bunch of stupid questions made me want to tear the hair off my head.

The rest of the car ride was silent. Both my dad and Garroth knew that more talking would make me more upset.

After about ten minutes, we've arrived. Garroth helped me out of the car since I told him there was a pain in my legs.

I didn't have the heart to tell him why.

He held my hand as we all walked inside. Garroth and I sat down on seats as a man took my dad to fill out paperwork.

"Are you scared?" He asks. I shook my head. Fear would make me more stressed. I stood as calm as possible. "We're going to put this all behind us as soon as we get out of here. Then we could start our lives again."

I wish it was that easy, Garroth.

"Aphmau? It's your turn." My dad called me. I sighed as I sat up and walked inside the room. My dad left and closed the door behind him. I sat down in the chair that was across a desk. The man was on the opposite side.

"Good afternoon, Miss Aphmau. I'm Mr. Suptic. I'm aware that you know why you are here."

I nod. I didn't feel like talking.

"Well, okay. Why don't we get started." He pulls out a folder and takes out about six papers. I wanted to cry so bad.

Six papers worth of questions...

"Alright. We need as much information as possible. I understand you don't want to be here, and some of these questions could make you uncomfortable, but we want to help."

Help? You're killing me...

"So, how exactly did you... get taken..?"

I didn't want to answer. I couldn't do this.

"Please miss, I don't want to do this either. But it's my job. I'm sorry--"

"I ran into this person in school. He wouldn't leave me alone and ended up walking home with me. I led him to my friend's house rather than mine."

The man started to take notes immediately. I continued.

"I left my friend's house at night, and he found me. All because I led him there earlier. He... hurt me... and I ended up knocking out and waking up at his house."
