I wiped my nose one last time as we pulled into a parking lot. It would be... unprofessional if a drop of blood came down my nose.
I stepped out of the car as Garroth opened the car door for me. He took my hand and helped me walk to the door. He was holding up my hand as high as my face was.
"What is this, some old-timey romance movie?" I laugh.
"It is if you want it to be. This is your special day." He smiles at me. I giggle. He let's go of my hand and runs to the front door to open it for me. "M'lady~" Garroth says as I walk in. I laugh again.
"I love you." I took his hand and pulled him in. He walked up to the reservation desk and started talking to the man there. I zoned out.
I looked across the room and saw someone. Someone familiar. But I couldn't tell since everyone was moving everywhere. Was it just my mind tricking me..?
"C'mon, Aph!" Garroth, said, taking my hand and walking to our table. Garroth runs ahead and pulls the chair out for me. I sat down and he pushed me in. He sat down on the other side of the table.
I tried to look over to where that person was. But there were so many people... I might have lost them...
A man comes to our table and gives us menus. Everything on it was in some French language and was way too expensive. I sighed and looked toward the entrance. Then I found myself looking around for that person...
"Isn't it nice?" I hear Garroth say. I looked back at a smiling Garroth.
"What..? What is nice..?" I ask. Garroth's smile fades away.
"T-The restaurant. Is it okay?"
"Oh! Yes! It's wonderful! Actually... it looks very expensive... Garroth, you didn't have to go all out for me..." I held his hand on top of the table. He smiled again.
Good.
"Oh yes, I do. I thought it would show that I'll do anything for you pretty well." He laughs.
"It does... It means everything to me." I smile at him, tightening my grip on his hands. I was so happy... but that person was still on my mind. Why did I think I know them?
I looked around again to find that person. I didn't see them anymore.
"Is something bothering you? You barely looked at the menu... We could go somewhere else if you want." He gets sad again.
"No! No, it's okay! I'm just admiring this place! It's so bright and shiny." I laugh nervously. He smiled.
"Okay. Just asking." He starts reading the menu.
I despised lying to him. But he's happy.
I looked at it as well. It was ridiculously expensive.
"I'll just get a salad and a soda. I'm not that hungry." I say to him. He looks up and smiles.
"Alright. I'll get the steak and the 'exclusive' brownies." He laughs, mocking the menu.
I looked around some more. I wanted to stop since it was probably nothing. But 90% of me knew that I had to see who it was.
The waiter came and took our order. Garroth kept the conversation going and slipped in some jokes. He always does that when he thinks I'm bored. I forgot all about the person after that.
"Here is your food. Bon appétit~" The waiter says as he puts the platter of food on our table.
"Thank you very mu---" I stop. My heart does the same.
