The desks of the home room is arranged in vertical rows, in each spot a sleep-deprived student slumps, soft snores escapes from their mouths. I choose a spot near the back of the classroom where Killian, Lucifer, and the rest of their group are sitting.
I sit down then turn around and greet them good morning. Killian looks up and acknowledges my presence with a curt nod, while Lucifer smiles warmly and greets back.
"Did you sleep well last night, Skylar?" Lucifer asks, the skin at the end of his silvery-blue eyes crinkle when he smiles, and his straight, pure white teeth stand out against his slightly tan skin.
"Yep, you?" From the corner of my eyes, I see Killian flinch slightly, but Lucifer takes no notice.
"Absolutely amazing." Lucifer answers and weaves his slim fingers through his hair, making the gold-ish tint of his blonde hair shine. The collar of his light tee slips a little, and the purple, pink-ish color of a bruise flashes on his collarbone. Lucifer quickly fixes his shirt back in place, but I've already seen the hickey. And I'm not the only one. Allen, a close friend of Killian and Lucifer's popular group, slowly raises his eyebrows, but for some reason doesn't seem too surprised, and looks at me quickly.
The warning bell for homeroom rings loudly, reminding everyone that class begins in 5 minutes. and like the rabbit from Alice in Wonderland, Mr. Walkers rushes in through the door, unmarked exams and assignments flying with him, in one hand he holds a coffe mug that is slushing around the substance, and in the other hand he holds his brown leather brief case, just as the clock ticks 8:30. Mr.Walkers is a lot of things, but being tardy is not one of them.
Mr.Walkers sets down his many papers, and his brief case, but clutches his coffee mug dearly. With a sigh our middle aged teacher begins taking attendance, grunting the word delinquent whenever someone is marked missing. He waves his hand, a gesture permitting us to continue with our conversations before he got here.
"Interesting bruise." Killian comments , not missing a beat. Lucifer's hand flies to his collar, but smirks playfully.
"I had company over." Lucifer says then leans in to whisper something into Killian's ear, which sends him into a fit of laughter. In all the years I've secretly admired Killian without him knowing, the only person that could really make him laugh has always been Lucifer, which is a shame because when Killian laughs, he looks even more beautiful than usual. His dark, seemingly black eyes sparkle whereas when he's smirking, they remain just black with a mean gleam. The way Killian's mouth curves up makes me itch for my pencils to copy that amazing smile onto paper since I rarely see it.
Killian recovers from laughing and focuses his gaze on a pretty blonde sneeking glances at him over her shoulder. Killian catches her eye, winks at her, then gets up and strolls causally over to where the girl is watching his every move and biting her bottom lip seductively. She shamelessly flirts and when Killian flirts back, she giggles loudly and hits him gently. Is that how girls are supposed to flirt with guys to get them to like us? I think to how I act around Killian and Lucifer, should I be flirty like the blonde? Batting my eyelashes and all, and leaning forward so the boys can see down my shirt, the way the blonde is doing right now? I sigh and turn away, for some reason watching Killian flirt makes me hurt a little inside.
A few minutes later Killian returns to his desk, and waves a small piece of paper in front of our eyes, "Got her number."
"Killian strikes again!" Allen hoots, a wide grin on his face. "What's her name?"
Killian shrugs in answer, "I don't care."
"Killian! It's common curtesy! If you're going to fuck the girl, at least learn her name!" Lucifer says disapprovingly.
