Karkat arrived at Eridan's hive within minutes, Sollux close behind and panting. Karkat knocked nervously on the door. "ERIDAN...?"

"He'2 not goiing to an2wer KK."

Karkat bit his lip before opening the door. The area was dark and it sent chills down both trolls' spines.

Sollux's eyes glowed in the dark and- much to his distaste- they used it to be able to see. The downstairs was pristinely clean and the boys crept upstairs to Eridan's bedroom.

That's when Sollux saw it. His mouth went dry and he reached out, grabbing Karkat's shoulder.

"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU-" Karkat whipped around but froze when he, too, saw the motionless body of their friend.

Karkat crouched down beside Eridan, fumbling for a pulse with shaky hands. When he found none he let out a cry of anguish, pink tears rolling down his cheeks as he set his forehead against Eridan's shoulder.

Sollux's stomach was tight and he felt like he was going to be sick. He walked around to the other side of Eridan's body and pried a letter out of his hand. He unfolded it carefully and placed a hand over his mouth as yellow tears dropped to the floor and he handed it to Karkat. Karkat, too, looked it over before starting to sob.

"HE... HE CAN'T BE GONE... HE CAN'T JUST TELL ME HE'S FLUSHED FOR ME AND THEN LEAVE! THAT'S NOT HOW THIS WORKS!" He gripped Eridan's cold hand when suddenly an empty bottle of pills tumbled out.

They stared at it before Sollux got him to sit up and Karkat placed two fingers down his throat, causing Eridan to roll over and throw up the forty or so pills.

Relief flooded Karkat's veins as he wrapped his arms around Eridan, who was groggy and confused.
