His Turn

Sollux sat at his kitchen table in silence, swirling some cereal that had gotten soggy a while ago around in a bowl. He hadn't been contacted by neither Eridan nor Karkat for a while now- not since Karkat's episode. He'd thought they'd just been hanging out but he had a feeling this was becoming excessive. He'd actually finished all of his coding projects and, honestly, ran out of inspiration for any more.
With Sollux, it took a lot of things to settle in with him. Now, it had been long enough.
He set his spoon down, standing up in silence. His head hurt and his chest ached a little.
He crawled up the stairs and into his room, pulling an old knife out of the drawer in his nightstand.
He ran his thumb along the blade. It had yellow blood dried onto it. Karkat was the only one who knew about this. Usually he used it as a call for help, but he had a feeling no one was coming. Now, he was just using it as a way to get rid of the emotional pain, channel it into physical pain.
Digging the blade of the knife into his gray skin he slashed over his wrist, causing him to inhale sharply through his teeth. Tears pricked his eyes and he did it again, quickly, before he stopped himself. He choked on a sob, hand shaking.
He heard his husktop ring and set the knife down, opening it up.
Karkat was trolling him.

'IM COMING OVER
why
BECAUSE
no. go away
SOLLUX WHATS WRONG
nothiing. Ii ju2t don't want to be bothered riight now
SOLLUX ARE YOU CUTTING
no. why would Ii be doiing that
IM COMING OVER'

Sollux tried to stop him but Karkat had left the chat. He stood up, dripping blood onto the floor and locked all the doors, closing every window. His hive was cast with darkness but he didn't care. He curled up behind his bed, digging the knife deep into his wrist. Suddenly it wouldn't move. He looked down to see blood pouring out of his skin. He slumped against the wall, feeling his eyelids grow heavy.
The last thing he saw- or faintly remembered seeing- was the blurry image of Karkat's figure.
