"So where are we going, Bryllee?" Sam asked as he started the boat.
"Just keep going northeast and we should be there in 3 hours," I said sitting down on a small crate. He nodded and started to drive the boat. I looked at him for a moment, he was very tan and muscular, I didn't notice that about him, mostly because I was too focused on my business not being stripped away from me. I looked away and stared at Panama beach as it grew smaller and smaller. Nate sat next to me and handed me a paper.
"What's this?" I asked opening it and looked at the old Polaroid picture. It had a very young Nate and Sam and they looked like they were going trick or treating.
"That, is a picture Sam and I took when we were looking for our mom's journals, you know that story," he said laughing softly and nudging me. I nudged him back and we began to have a nudging war with one another.
"Land ho!" Sam said playfully. I got up and walked up to the front of the boat beside Sam. The tropical green Island of Seas was just a few miles away from my grasp.
"Welcome, to one of the islands of The Islands of Seas!" I said getting out of the boat as we drove up to the beach. I looked back at the three boys and all of them were smiling and looking around at the island. We all walked around looking for old boat ruins or small houses, or even old traps. We couldn't find anything.
"Where is it," I asked very frustrated as I kicked a nearby log. "It's all gone!"
"Ok calm down feisty pants," Sully said trying to stop me from throwing a rock at the boat.
"Don't call me feisty pants, and don't touch me!" I said throwing the rock at the ground and sitting on a bigg rock.
"Just because we can't find anything here, doesn't mean we can't spot something from higher ground," Sam said putting a hand out to help me up. I looked at his hand then at him, I rolled my eyes and took his hand. It was warm and he had a tight grip. I stood up and began to walk with the boys up a high mountain to try and get a better look.
Once we got to the top of the mountain I began to look.
"See! Nothing!" I said turning around. All of this was frustrating, I thought we were so close to finding it, and now that we're on the island, I can't find anything.
"Calm down, look again but this time, look carefully at every detail," Sam said crossing his arms. I looked again and began to scan the area. I couldn't see anything until I moved closer, there was a shimmer and a small hut came into view, it didn't look small, it actually looked huge.
"There," I said pointing to the spot. Sam looked and gave me a small hug. I pushed him off and gave him a "don't-do'that-again" look. He shrugged.
"We have company," Nate said. I turned around as another boat was pulling into the makeshift harbor our boat had created, then another, then another. Three more boats showed up.
"Well isn't that just perfect," Sully said.
"Arcticneer?! Weird name," I said examining the boats and the equipment on them.
"Yea, well lets just hope they stay on their own side of the island," Nate added and walked off towards the huts. We all followed close behind.
