* Lenny’s POV *

From the night that Alesia found out I wasn’t the whole reason of what happened to Serenity, she has done nothing except scream silence at me, and that was ticking me off.

I’d rather hear her yells or cries than this. Whenever I try to talk to her about it, she would outright ignore me and talk about something else. There was nothing I could do about it than sigh and watch her. And honestly, I was scared at how she was bottling up all her feelings. This wouldn’t end in good circumstances, one I was definitely sure of, but I couldn’t make her speak no matter how much I try.

The past week I’ve been spending more time with her than Serenity, letting her feel that she was still on top of my priorities. Her happiness was the number one I had in mind, and this was also a way I could make it up to her.

Though, it didn’t stop me from thinking about how Serenity was doing. I’ve been lying to her all these times, saying I had to work double hours for Justice Crew, when in fact, I’m just spending some time with my girl and Harley.

I just couldn’t have the heart to tell her about the family I was trying to build. I don’t know why I felt easier to lie to her than tell her the exact reasons.

We came back to our apartment a few days ago as we wanted to have some family bonding. Coming from behind, I hugged Alesia who was preparing some snacks for Harley and I, mixing up her ingredients, getting all messy, and yet, she looks beautiful, perfect in my eyes.

Giggling, she got tickled by the sweet nothings I had whispered in her ear, not minding the fact that Harley was just in another room, watching his daily cartoons.

Stopping me from my playful acts, she placed some batter on the tip of my nose as I dug it in her neck for revenge. Screaming, she slapped my arms and started running away from my arms as I jokingly had my game face on. And she knew that game face meant I was here to win her heart, like I always do.

Even if at first, she denies it. “You’re not going to get me this time.” She uttered, in a serious tone, which actually always starts out our usual teasings. Denying all she wants, until, I get what I wanted and she ends up giving up and surrendering to my eruption of sweetness. “I swear.”

You gotta love a Lenny Pearce!

“Oh stop smiling, you’re pissing me off!” She said while running around the kitchen, creating splotches of flour on the floor. But I was a stubborn one, and instead of giving in to her orders, I displayed a huge grin on my face, just to torment her more.

She rolled her eyes and went back to her batter, ignoring me completely. But I had other ideas in mind, which involved her getting goosebumps all over her spine as I whispered all the reasons why I love her.

However, we were suddenly disrupted by a phone ring and Harley’s cries, Alesia’s mood turned upside down. Checking who the caller was, Serenity’s name popped out, and I knew Alesia have seen the name as I heard her let out a groan of disapproval.

“Your baby needs you.” She uttered and turned her back from me, continuing on making the snack.

I sighed as it was the scenario I have had in mind a couple of times that I hoped would never happen in reality, but I guess it was bound to happen any day, and it chose the perfect timing to be executed now, when I just thought that Alesia had forgiven me.

Almost.

She continued arguing with herself, muttering incoherent words under her breath, looking all annoyed while working out on the snack as my phone continued ringing. Throwing a fit, she tossed the wooden spatula on the sink and it made a clattering noise as my heart beat quickened its pace.
