Alicia's P.O.V

I said my final goodbyes to my Mum and Dad and stepped onto the train, followed by my older brother, Max. I still couldn't believe I was going to a school that actually taught magic. I'd always known that I was a Witch, because all of my family are magical, but we'd been living in Spain for the past 5 years, where there aren't any Wizarding schools. Plus, as you start this school at 11, we never received our letters, since I'm 13 and Max is 15. I always just thought we learnt magic from our parents.

As soon as I stepped onto the train I got stuck behind a big group of boys.

"Excuse me," I said politely, but they all ignored me.

'Fine then,' I thought, and I pushed through them causing a few of them to trip up. As I got past them, I heard one wolf - whistle me. I turned around to glare at him and saw that Max looked angrier than me.

"Dude, calm it," I said to him.

"But he..."

"Yes, I know what he did," I said, opening a compartment door. "But I can handle it Max. Being my big brother doesn't mean being so protective.

"Erm, yes. Yes it does," he replied.

I rolled my eyes and then noticed a blonde boy around my age staring at me and Max looking amused.

"Oh, sorry. I thought it was empty," I said.

"Clearly," he said with a smirk.

"K bye," I said and shut the door.

"Why the rude goodbye?" Max asked me.

"He was creeping me out," I replied.

I found a compartment with 3 people around my age and a teacher who seemed to be asleep.

"You sit in there and I'll meet up later," Max said

"Okay," I said, and opened the door.

"Hey, do you mind if I sit in here?" I ask.

"No, not at all," said a boy with black, untidy hair and round glasses.

"Thanks, I'll just sit by the window if you want..." I say.

"No, don't be silly," said a pretty girl with light brown curly hair.

"Yeah, sit here," said another boy sat next to her with flaming red hair. He was pointing to the space between him and the girl.

"Okay, thank you," I said, sitting down.

"So, I don't think I've seen you around before, what year are you in?" the girl asked.

"I'll be starting 3rd year, I'm new," I replied.

"Oh, cool!" she said excitedly. "Us too! Starting 3rd year I mean. I'm Hermione, this is Harry," she said pointing to the black haired boy opposite me. "And this is Ron," she said, pointing to the boy other side of me.

"Hiya, I'm Alicia-Rose, Just call me Alicia though," I said.

We spent a lot of the train ride chatting and getting to know each other.

"Hey, is it just me or is it really dark all of a sudden?" I ask.

"Yeah, it is actually," Hermione said.

Ron budged over a little to look out of the window when the train suddenly stopped.

"We're not due at Hogwarts yet are we?" Hermione asked.

"No, not yet," Harry replied.

"I wonder what's happened," I say.

"I don't know but it's freezing," Ron said, shivering.
