Draco's P.O.V
I walked Alicia back to Honeyduke's with the biggest smile on my face. She's got Sharon perched on her arm, twittering away. I knew she'd love that bird. I chose Sharon because she had the exact same eyes as Alicia, dark brown with a hint of sparkly green. I was so glad I bought her that owl. Amazing, she called me. She actually said I was amazing. That made me so happy, and I kept on smiling like an idiot until we got into the secret passageway. I helped her down into the the tunnel then grabbed her hands and looked her in the eyes.
"I've really enjoyed this Alicia," I said calmly.
"Yeah me too," she replied with a beautiful smile.
Ugh, that smile. Her eyes lit up and she looked absolutely gorgeous. It was then that I realized I wasn't ever going to let her get hurt. I wanted to protect her. What I read in Potter's letter scared me. Obviously I didn't let on, but when I found out she's being hunted by a crazed serial killer, I was more terrified than I ever had been in my whole entire life. This girl I'd known for less than a week was altering my whole perspective of love without even knowing it. For the past two years I thought love was a fondness of someone, but if that was true I would have gone with Pansy first year. But being with Alicia made me feel sparks I'd never felt before, and I knew that's what love felt like. She made me feel like me, not the dickhead, arrogant Slytherin, but the real me.
"You don't think I'm a dickhead anymore then?" I asked, suddenly desperately seeking her approval.
"Definitely not!" She replied with a big grin and a sparkle in her eyes.
She looked amazing. I mean, she has always looked amazing before anyway, but this way her eyes were lit up and she made me feel at peace.
"Good, I'm glad," I replied.
"Thank you Draco. You've really took my mind off of stuff. I was stressing about Ron you see, I broke up with him," she said quietly.
My heart missed a beat at that. So it actually worked. She ended it with the weasel. I did assume she'd had an argument with him when I found her crying, but I never thought my arrangement with Potter would have worked this quickly.
"Well, I'm glad I cheered you up," I said softly.
"Yeah," she said, as she started biting her lip and tucked her hair behind her ear.
She looked so cute doing that, but it was obvious something was bothering her.
"What's up?" I asked, sensing her mood change.
"Oh it's, it's nothing really, I just feel kind of guilty," she said.
"Guilty?" I asked. "About what?"
"Well I break up with him, and then ten minutes later I'm out on a date with you," she sighed.
Again, my heart jumped.
"A date?" I said excitedly, "you class that as a date?"
"Oh, no! I didn't mean a date, um..." she said, looking embarrassed and then dropping her gaze to the floor.
"No? What did you mean then?" I asked with a smirk, teasing her a little.
"Well, it was a bit, you know what I mean? I mean, we ate, we went shopping, and, you bought me Sharon," she replied, and as she said her name the owl took off flying above our heads.
