You had fallen asleep, and done everything asked of you to bring Chara out.

The demon child stood in front of the skeleton, ready for what was to happen next. They let out that same horrible laugh that sent shivers down your spine. Thankfully you weren't awake to hear it. Since Chara had taken a physical form, you could no longer see them in your dream. You just saw a black void.

The child pulled a sharp knife out of thin air.

"Let's just get this done with," Sans sighed.

The two battled for what seemed like forever, with Alphys fearing that Sans would get hurt. She knew how much it would kill you to see the one you loved in pain, but Sans seemed like he had everything under control. Any time Chara would try to cut him with the knife, he would just teleport out of the way and hit her with either a bone attack or with one of his gaster blasters. It was tiring them both out.

The fight, that is.

But Sans was determined to win this fight so he could see you happy.

Chara had cuts and bruises all over them. They were failing to even walk straight at this point. They were tripping over their own feet, but managed to try to walk towards Sans.

Damn, this kid really wanted him dead.

But unfortunately for Chara, Sans had teleported behind them and hit them hard with a bone that went right through them.

Chara let out their demonic laugh before they stopped breathing.

Y/N POV

I woke up gasping for air, all too quickly.

I saw Sans standing in the Judgment Hall, where he had just defeated Chara.

Alphys and Asgore came out of their hiding spot and walked over to Sans while helping me walk even though I insisted that I could walk myself.

"Alright you guys, I think I got it," I laughed before they finally let me down.

I walked over to Sans and the first thing he did was pull me in to a hug. "My goodness Y/N, I'm so glad that's over," he said to me.

"Yeah, me too. I just hope that I stop having nightmares about them now."

---

After all of that was over, Asgore stayed in the castle, Alphys went to her lab -- her and Undyne were going to watch some anime. And Sans and I went back to my apartment to chill for a while.

"So, what do ya wanna do now?" Sans asked me.

"I don't know," I responded.

"Well, how bout we find that sister of yours?" He suggested.

"Wait, really?"

"Yeah. That freak isn't posessin them anymore, and didn't Al give you a tracking device to show you where they are? I can just teleport us there."

"Sans you're amazing," I say before kissing his cheek, causing a blue blush to form.

"Eh, I try my best," he says with his his laid back smile. "Now come on, where are they?"

"Oh, uh," I trailed off while pulling my ohone out of my back pocket. "They're in some type of cave or something."

"I know exactly where that is. Let's go." I grabbed his hand and he teleported us to where Frisk was.

I was excited and nervous at the same time. I was going to see Frisk, and maybe we'd break the barrier. But what if Chara's still there?

I shook away any negative thoughts I was having and Sans and I walked a bit closer to where Frisk was.

I tapped them on the shoulder which caused them to wake up and look at me. After realizing who I was, they pulled me into a hug with their adorable brown hair bouncing with every step they took.

"Hey Frisk! I missed you so much," I said to them while bending down to hug them.

"I missed you too, Y/N. Sorry for making you and mom worry so much."

"Now that I know you're safe, that doesn't really matter to me anymore." I gave them a small smile. "Now let's get out of here." Wow, that was the most Frisk has talked in a while. They wouldn't even hold a conversation for long at home.

I walked out of the cave with the two people I cared about most, well other than my mom. Goodness, I miss her.

But, I mean, hey. We were a step closer to getting home.

---

A week later, the barrier had been broken. Turns out that nobody else had to die. Asgore brought the souls with him and we crossed the barrier, and broke it.

The monsters were now free.
