"Cheers to the hero of the night, Ms. (y/n) (y/l/n)," Dean smiled.

"Guys, really you didn't have to do this," you said after you took a swig of your beer.

"You helped out with everything tonight. We couldn't have done it without you," Sam agreed.

"This is all so great, thanks you guys. Hunting with you feels amazing," you smiled.

You were all sitting in a bar after you had finished a shapeshifter case. Sam and Dean were both in a fair amount of trouble, and they were lucky to have you there to save the day.

This was one of the few times you had hunted with the Winchesters and you enjoyed yourself immensely. You had grown up in a family of hunters, but they all died a few months ago. You were on your own until you came across Sam and Dean. And you were really thankful for that.

2 years later

"Case in Wisconsin, doesn't look too bad," you talked to yourself as you were browsing newspapers in a motel room.

You hadn't had a job in a while and decided it was time to hit the road. The drive was six hours so you had some time to think to yourself.

It'd been a while since the last time you'd seen the Winchesters. You'd heard rumours from other hunters that Sam and Dean were the ones who started the apocalypse. It sounded likely but you weren't going to blame them. You hoped you'd run into them soon.

You arrived in Wisconsin and checked in another motel. You didn't bother wasting any time so you quickly put on your fake FBI outfit and headed to the police station. You spoke to the sheriff and he let you in the back room to read the files for the case.

"Uh, ma'am, some of your co-workers are here," the sheriff opened the door and you got scared that some of the real FBI was here and you'd be in trouble.

Sam and Dean walked in the room at that exact moment and you smiled your brightest smile at them.

"Damn, it's good to see you boys again," you smiled and went in for a hug.

Dean embraced you quickly and then you went to hug Sam but he declined.

"Not a hugger," he shook is head and you gave him a look.

"Looks like you beat us here," Dean changed the topic of conversation.

"Surprised?" you smiled.

"What have you got?" Dean asked.

"My money's on werewolf. People go missing in the woods, hearts ripped out. Witnesses all say the same thing," you explained.

"Have you spoke to any of them?" Dean asked again.

"I was planning to," you said. "Wanna come along?"

"I think Sam does," Dean offered up his brother.

"Let's go," Sam decided and the two of you walked outside.

You boarded the Impala once again after so many years. It was almost reassuring.

"How have you been?" you asked Sam as he started the car.
