"I am amazing, I am beautiful, I am young," I recite while sitting in the creaky rocking chair. But the truth is, I am neither.

I am over four hundred years old and cannot move. The only working thing in my body is my mouth and for eternity I will have to sit in this chair. People visit me everyday; They call themselves scientists. In my young days I would never have heard of such a thing. They run these tests on me and insert needles into my limbs.

Sometimes they call me a miracle. People come and take images of me. It makes me feel like an animal rather than a human. But even an animal wouldn't do what I did in the past.

A hundred years ago they called me a witch and now they call me a miracle! It was amazing to see how humanity had changed so fast. When I was known as a witch, they tried killing me many times.

They hanged me. My neck snapped but I never died.

They drowned me. Still death never came.

They burned me at stake. Death was afraid.

But pain was not. The pain caused agony and despair. The pain turned me into the soulless shell that I am now. My eyes nothing but empty sockets, my arms thin and frail, my body just rotting skin wrapped tightly around a slowly eroding skeleton, all because of the pain.

And the wish.

The wish that I made as a small girl on my sixth birthday.

The wish to live forever.
