Reddit: Let's Not Meet
1. Crazy dude on the London Underground
Reddit User: nobsy18
So last weekend some mates and I headed to London on a stag do (bucks party). We had had a couple of beers on the way down but were by no means drunk.
At around 2pm we were on the London underground when a guy gets on, he had scruffy jeans, top and a baseball cap on and more worrying an industrial dust mask on as well. Soon after sitting down he opens a sheet of newspaper and pulls out a diet coke bottle with a yellow liquid in it. He soon starts to discreetly spray the liquid onto the newspaper and a smell starts to waft through the carriage. As soon as someone asks him what he is doing he stands up and bolts to the door as we were just coming into the next station.
We immediately tell everyone to get off our carriage and as we step off we notice the next carriage down also piling off. The guy has gone back onto this carriage to as we soon discover get his back that he left on the other carriage!
We immediately get out of the station and call the police who arrived within 2 minutes. They ask us to wait in the area after giving statements and 30 minutes later come to find us to say it was someone with mental health issues that said he wanted to clean his shoes. I cant help think this may have been a cover story though so we didn't panic further!
2. A terrifying night at work

This happened many years ago when I was an undergraduate student. I worked at a well known convenience store chain. This particular Monday night, I was working until 11:30 pm and was the only employee from 9:00 on.
It was an older store and space was limited so it was cramped. The only cameras were aimed at the cash registers. The store was located between the university classrooms and student housing. It was close enough to walk from campus and back to get snacks/ drinks between classes. But business was fairly slow after 9:00 pm during the week.
I was stocking the shelves when a man entered. He wore a brown jacket and faded blue jeans. He went to the back of the store,by the beer coolers. He was wearing sunglasses when he came up to the counter with a 12- pack of Bud. My hair rose on the back of my neck. It was dark out and this customer put on sunglasses.
He pulled out a gun, aimed it at my face, and told me to empty the till. He didn't ask about the cash drop or safe. He grabbed up the cigars on the counter and told me to empty the overhead cigarette bins and lottery tickets. He also took my wallet.
I thought for sure I was going to die when he had me lay on the floor behind the counter. I closed my eyes and started praying. I exhaled a huge sigh of relief when I heard the door chimes.
He wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed. He had hit several convenience stores of several chains. He got caught trying to cash in lottery tickets. He had stolen credit cards on him as well.
Dude in crappy brown jacket: let's not meet again
TL;DR. Robbed at gun point
3. Creepy Lady of the Lane

I know that this encounter is a lot less traumatizing and terrifying than the other one's I read. My encounter with this deranged person is more on the weird/kinda creepy spectrum of this subreddit. I haven't encountered too many strange things in my life, which I guess is why I remember this event so clearly. Which, looking back, I am not sure if it's a good or bad thing that I remember such an event so clearly.
