The rain was still drizzling although it wasn't just as hard as it did that evening. Now that it was nearly midnight, most of the new members were already sleeping. The leaders were still awake, enjoying their own company as they listened to the sound of crickets among the slow rain drops.
"I'm going to miss this." Sheronica said. The fire illuminated her small face as she drew a ghost smile on her lips.
"We can still do this kiddo." Izzudin joked, poking the girl's waist in which she answered with a small yelp.
She was ticklish.
"Do you think we'll win?" Aieyn asked, meeting Farra's eyes.
"We have to. We can't afford to lose. I know it's nearly impossible but with Dylan and Alex's help, I'd like to think we have a chance." The true Leader replied, leaning back on her seat.
Izzudin nodded. "Besides, the new members trained with them. They basically know how to deal with... what do they call it in the Number Clan... Elites?"
It was Farra turn to nod. "Elites. We're really lucky they came with Sheron. But if we failed." She sucked a breath. "We need to do that." She looked at each of her childhood friend for their response. All of them were quiet. They knew it was the last resort, and that way will totally work, but if by any chance they wouldn't do it until they were forced to.
"Anyway, I'm glad I know you guys. Thank you for putting up with me." Aieyn said trying to stir the conversation to something else.
"Admit it, you love us." Izzudin teased. "No one can tolerate you better than we do. We're basically 'Aieyn repellant' and Aieyn's best friend forever' rolled up into one. We're the full package."
Sheronica laughed while Farra grinned. Aieyn shot him her dirtiest look. But deep inside her, she knew what he said was right. She was nothing without them. They were all she had. She'll fight to death for them.
Just then there were a slight sound of bombing and they perked up in their seats."What was that?" Izzudin asked and it was quiet again as all four of them tried to listen if there was another sound.
"I don't-" Sheronica started but stopped when another bombing sound was heard. Her eyes widened.
Farra and Aieyn shot up from their seats. Farra rushed to the door while Aieyn screamed so loud to wake up the still sleeping members;
"WAR!!"On Aieyn's voice, everyone scrambled up and rushed downstairs. Farra quickly dispersed them to their place as they had planned; Jyra and Miezza, Danish and Lily. Aieyn and Noorizan bolted out of the door after Farra and Hisham did.
The last words that left the Leader's mouth were what officially started the war; "try not to get yourself killed." And after shooting a look to Izzudin, she left.
Alex and Dylan did too.
Lissa was going to run after her friends but Izz pulled her back to Zulfikar who had Sheronica's wrist in a firm grip.
"What are you doing? I have to help them!" She said, struggling under Izz's hand.
"No, you can't. Listen." He said. He looked to Lissa and Sheronica. "I have to get you to safety. Don't come out until it ends."
"What? Who said that?" Lissa shouted. Sheronica was dumbfounded by his words.
"I did. Now go." Izzudin ordered and he nodded to Zul who grabbed Lissa's wrist in his free hand and brought them to the basement."We'll stay here." He said, chucking them both into the dark room and then he followed. He put his hands up and ice crept to the door, freezing it in place.
They were all outside the house looking at where the explosions came from. There was bright red light that no doubt came from the burning witch plant Noorizan planted. They settled in a fighting mode. Noorizan already started to use his powers and roots sprouted from the grounds.
Alex touched the ground and wrote something on it. A second later his runes shone and a gun morphed. He picked it up and inspected it. He looked up when he sensed someone looking at him.
"I saw you doing it all the time but I can't get used to it." Danish grumbled while the tall guy grinned.
"Manipulating magic baby!" Alex said.
Dylan did the same thing simultaneously, except he weaved it from the air. A translucent weapon came to his open hands after his runes worked.
He turned to his right and saw Lily looking at him. She gave him a smile, and at that time he knew she'd forgiven him. At least he wouldn't die in regret.
The ground shook, and the trees were swept to the side with an invisible force. Farra's eyes widened in realisation when the force came to their way.
"Watch out!" She yelled and they ran out of the range. The force exploded when it came in contact with the house's wall, making a huge hole in it.
"Of course." Dylan snarled in disgust. "Becareful people. Number Two is here."
Jyra's eyebrows crinkled. She had heard that somewhere but she couldn't make it up. She shared looks with Miezza who looked like she was thinking the same thing.
Then came the hooded creature. Eyes were bright crimson, it contrasted with their hooded face which was covered in shadow. Proturding at the ends of their sleeves were sharp talons.
Izzudin acted first. He divided himself to a lot of clones and attacked the creatures, using his full speed. Farra joined next, using all her powers to attack, and as a result three creatures fell down simultaneously as they were hit by her lightning bolts.
The other members started too. Using their powers to kill as many creatures as they could. Just as they thought they wiped a dozen of them, the creatures that lie on the dirt stood up again, advancing towards the group.
"W-what?" Jyra stuttered.
Miezza shot a hard wind to a creature and it flew off, until it crashed to a tree. But it stood up and moved again.
"This can't be!" She cried.
"Sheron's healing power." Farra said.
"They got her blood." Izzudin said in disgust.
He used his speed and tackled a creature to the ground. Dylan finished the job by shooting through its head. It didn't move again.
"Aim the head!" Farra yelled, and they got into action.
