After the Brock thing I was pretty upset with myself. When I saw it was him I just should've ran away or something. I was dumb for that, Tyler was right. We all made our way down to the basement because everyone quit Cops and Robbers, which I was thankful for.

Zach switched on the TV and flipped through the channels. I sat on a beanbag and Tanner plopped down next to me. I tried not to smile but I couldnt help myself, he made me feel some type of way. My brother sat on the couch next to Jon Luke, Carson, Ethan, Tyler and Robert. They were all squished together on their phones, which was when I realized guy sleepovers were like girls. Zach was sprawled out on a blanket on the floor, and RJ, Easton and Jon Henry were on another blanket next to him.

"Wheres Isiah?" I asked, looking around.

RJ answered, "Oh he's upstairs getting food he should be down-"

"I GOT POPCORN!" Isiah yelled as he fumbled down the stairs with like 10 giant bowls of popcorn stacked on top of each other.

"Tanner and Tyler, your mom is legendary." He said as he passed them out to the groups of boys, and one to Tanner and I.

"She can be awesome sometimes."Tyler smiled.

"Hey Isiah while youre up, be a bro and turn off the lights?" Ryan asked looking up from his phone.

Isiah obliged and it got sort of dark, the TV light and some phone screens were the only thing you could really see.

"Toss me the remote McWilliams." I held out my hand and after a groan it plopped in my palm.

I scrolled through the channels and finally decided on an Ice Age movie, everyone complained at first but in about 2 seconds they started laughing. It was about 7 minutes into the movie, when Tanner put his arm around me. He took my hand and started rubbing it with his thumb. It was so adorable, I was screaming inside.

I rested my head on  his shoulder, just like in the car. It was like that for the rest of the movie, and then RJ turned on the lights and Tanner and I got out of our position so that no one would start teasing us.

My phone buzzed, and I opened an Imessage from Zach.

From McWilliams:

Ya'll too cute.

I didnt answer ,but I did roll my eyes at him from where I was sitting.

Tanners mom yelled from upstairs, "Pizzas here!" and the boys got up in a mess. Blankets flew everywhere, pillows bombarded the floor and 13 or some boys wildly ran up the stairs. If only they ran that fast when they were stealing bases tonight.

However, Tanner stayed with me and we walked up the stairs together. His mom was by the door and smiled at us. We traveled into the living room and took a seat next to each other, devouring our pizza. The parents accompanied us as we ate.

"So, boys are you excited for regionals?" My mom said as we ate.

Zach answered first, "We're all pretty hype, those dorms are gonna be lit."

"Lit?" My mom asked.

"Nevermind, point is, yeah were excited." He said while taking a sip of soda.

The parents thought it was a great idea to take pictures so we did. The team got one, the team and I,the siblings, and then Mr.Jones approached me.

"Tanner , Tyler! Come get a picture with Kayla!" She said happily.

I got in the middle and Tanner and Tyler on my side.

Then Tanner slid away, "How about one with just Kayla and Tanner, Mom?" He smirked.

"Oh of course!" She said, oblivious.

At first we just stood there, smiling, like no arms around each other or nothing. But Coach Hale came over.

"Ah, get closer you two, like in the dugout!" He practically screamed, I mean you could probably here him in Williamsport.

Tanners mom looked confused, and our faces were literally the color of a firetruck.

"What's that mean , Joey?" She asked.

"Yeah what does that  mean?" My mom came over too.

We didn't say anything, and I started to talk, "Well earlier,-"

"Kayla kissed Tanner!" Tyler blurted out. And suddenly everyone was looking

"Kayla?" My mom said.

"Tanner?" His mom put down her phone.

"That's not true!" I glared at Tyler.

"Yeah, shut up dork." Tanner started walking toward him, but I grabbed him by his shirt.

"Stop." I told him, "What Coach Hale meant was that I just hugged Tanner for goodluck, I did not kiss him and besides, I hugged everyone else so whatever." I shrugged trying to play it off.

"Oh, alright. Well thats fine! Now get closer for the picture!" Mrs. Jones said.

"Actually we're gonna go downstairs." Tanner said, walking away.

"Right, downstairs." I nodded.

"Yup." Everyone else chimed in.

We did in fact go downstairs, and stayed for about an hour. Until I got called up by my parents.

"Kayla, honey youre coming home." My mom said.

"What, why? They said I could-" But my dad cut me off.

"It's all boys , you're too young."

"Look, if this is about the Tanner thing-"

My mom interrupted, "Exactly, you're not going to be alone with him from now on, understand?" She said.

It felt like my whole world collapsed onto me. I knew I'd get no where arguing so I just followed them to the car.

On the ride home, I felt tears come to my eyes as we left the house.

My phone buzzed,

From Tannerrrrr:
where r u?

I didn't respond, it was over. We were over.
