Warning: If you watched the LLWS or went, you will cry so I'm just letting you know. Don't kill me. (listen to that song for maximum effect!)
The tires screeched as we slowed down when we approached the "Welcome to the Little League World Series" sign. Then we passed the other signs and soon, all the boys had their phones out.
"Holy shit." Everyone single one of them awed, if they didn't, they were just amazed by it in silence. No words.
To be honest, there really are no words to describe the Little League World Series in Williamsport Pennsylvania. Seeing it on TV dosen't do it justice.
The moment you get there, it's kind of like your childhood is painted in a picture, then brought to life. The fields were manicured to a perfect extent, and the sign that said "Little League World Series" in grass was perfectly landscaped. The baby blue skies highlighted the brightness of the sunshine. I could feel rays of warmth radiate off me as we stepped off the bus. The two stadiums were ridiculously cool. Wicked cool. It was a mini Wrigley Field. The hill created the exact replica as weve seen it on TV so many times. I could see the practice fields, the museum and the infamous grove.
The boys kind of just stood there until I had enough, yearning to explore, "Well, are you guys just gonna stand there or what?" I asked. And with that, we all took off running into the huge playground.

After a few hours we were exhausted. Everyone grabbed some kettle corn and we moved into the dorms. Reluctantly I followed them in, knowing this was the last time we could be in the Grove.
The boys, however, couldn't have been more eager to settle in. They basically threw their suitcases against the wall and started calling bunks. Tanner and Tyler got a bunk, with Tanner on bottom and Tyler above, after a grueling game of rock paper scissors. Ryan got top of one bunk and Easton was beneath him.
Soon, it was time to leave them alone and for us to go to the hotel. All the parents left and the siblings stayed back to say goodbye. Everyone was sitting around Brock's bunk.
"Well, I guess this is it, ya know. After all summer sharing hotels, its time to peace out. This is worse than leaving you guys in regionals." My brother said to me, and the other siblings.
I smiled, trying not to let the tears come out of my eyes, "Yeah, but hey. We're gonna see each other around the complex dont worry. These 2 weeks are going to be lit as hell." I laughed and lightened the mood. We got up to say our goodbyes, I hugged everyone, even Brock. Even if it was killing me inside.
I was walking out the door when someone caught it.
I smiled when I saw his blue eyes.
"Tanner, I know leaving me is horrible but I'm not dying, go back in there." I laughed.
He smiled, letting his eyes hit the ground shyly, "Yeah, I just wanted to say goodbye again. I'll see you tomorrow? Text me when you get to the hotel."
"Of course." I answered.
"Right. So, I'm gonna leave, yeah." He stuttered turning around and I waved, walking away.
I was halfway down the hall when he yelled my name, "Wait Kay!" and I turned around
"Yeah?" I asked
"It's just uh. There's gonna be a lot of girls and stuff asking for pictures. One of them even asked me to like salute a flag for a video it was so weird. Well I guess the point is, they don't mean anything to me, at least not as much as you do." The words effortlessly flowed out of his mouth.
My heart melted and my eyes watered, how was he so sweet? Once again, my instincts took over and I ran up to him and hugged him.
"I love you Tanner." I whispered.
"I love you more Kay." He embraced me, and I didn't ever want to let go.
I walked out, taking in the complex at night.
"Man, its gonna be a good time." I smiled as we left the complex, into my moms minvan and sped off, leaving Lamade Stadium until another day.
