Click, clack, click, clack. Audrey's shoes made a small click every time they hit the tile flooring of the cold hospital. As she walked, she tapped her shoulder bag with her fingers, humming a small tune to calm herself. Her mind scanned the possible ways to do what she needed, eliminating them almost as fast as they came. Poison? Takes too long. Too much suffering on both parts. Gun? Too messy. No open casket funeral. Strangling? I wouldn't be able to do that... She was going to kill him today. The fire injured him so it would be easy. In that aspect, at least. She pressed the button for number three on the elevator and waited for it to move, still deep in thought. Once on the third floor, she stepped out of the elevator, being stopped by a woman at the front desk before she reached the room she was looking for. "Uhm. Ma'am? " the woman chimed, her voice sweet. Audrey glanced at her, not really caring for what she had to say. She quickly took in the woman's features before reaching into the pocket of her trench coat. The woman was rather pretty. She was a petite young lady with many freckles and crystal blue eyes that stared up at Audrey, whom towered over the small woman. "V..visitation hours are ov-" Bang. She was cut off with a bullet through her forehead. "Shame." Audrey mumbled, kicking the corpse aside. "I like redheads." She calmly put the gun back into her pocket, feeling the warmth of it against her chest. She'd never really liked guns. They were messy, loud, and sloppy. She'd rather use a knife or a staff. Anything with more grace than she had. She continued on her way, finally stopping in front of the room Tobias was in. Her hand reached for the doorknob, hesitating for a moment before twisting it and slowly pushing the door open. She peeked her head into the room and to her surprise and dismay, Tobias stared back at her from his seat by the window. Audrey waved to him, walking over to where he was seated. "You're not supposed to be up, idiot." She mumbled, more upset that she had to kill him while he was awake than she was about his health. He simply shrugged and glanced out of the window again. "So." He paused, staring at the wall, carefully picking out his words. "You here to kill me?" He didn't really look at her while he spoke as if he knew that she wouldn't look him in the eyes anyway. Audrey nodded and in response Tobias chuckled. "So you were the one who killed the others, right?" He asked, shaking a bit. She simply nodded again, not bothering to clarify that she didn't kill Joey. A small sigh escaped his lips like a small offering of acceptance of his fate. "Can you do me a favor though? A last request, if you will." He stopped speaking and waited for Audrey's quiet and broken "yeah" before continuing with his request. "Chris. Don't hurt him. I don't know what reason you have for doing what you did but... Just... dont hurt him. For me." The lump in Audrey's throat prevented her from saying no and her weighing guilt stopped her from objecting so she simply nodded, once again at a bit of a loss for words. "So how are we gonna do this? You just gonna kill me here or-" "Bed. The bed. Lie down." She interupted him, her voice quivering like she was having second thoughts. He slowly got himself up from the chair and Audrey helped him to the hospital bed, laying him and making sure he was comfortable. She took a kitchen knife from her bag and lifted it over his chest. She reminded herself where the heart was and hovered the knife over his. A million emotions and thoughts flooded Audrey's mind as she plunged the knife into his heart. It ended quickly as she hoped it would but the expression on his face as he lay dead, made her regret the whole ordeal. It was a mixture of betrayal and dissapointment that brought her to tears. She ran her hand over his face, closing his eyes to put him to rest and pulled a blanket over him, leaving the knife. Everything was a blur as she made her way home, her hands still covered in blood. Once home she wrote his death off just as she'd written the others and sent a copy to her publisher and her editor. Then quickly ran to the restroom to wash the blood from her hands. In a matter of minutes she found herself in bed and on her way to sleep. It somewhat scared her. How calm she could be after killing someone so close to her. She'd sent off her last book. The police would find the knife she left and they'd be at her house within hours. She had planned this. It was intentional. She wanted to get caught. She let our a sigh and mumbled the words she intended to say to Tobias before he died. "I'm sorry."
