"You're Eliza Acton, the owner of this restaurant, yes? Tell me a bit about Chef Fergus Edwards." Ciel demanded the lady.
She spoke with tears invading her lips. "He was like a father or uncle that I never had. He was always so kind, even when I made mistakes.. He taught me everything I know about cooking. I wouldn't be here, in this position, without him in my life. He's my savior."
"How long have you known him?"
She shrugged. "Nearly all of my life. I met him at the age of five." She broke into a messy sob, so Sebastian gave her a handkerchief.
"Was there anything strange in the last month or so? Suspicious characters eating at your restaurant? Any employees performing better or worse in the kitchen?" She shook her head to these questions. "...Did Chef Edwards lash out at anyone by any chance?" She hesitated, but declared there was no such behavior.
You thought about it a little, and asked,"Well, did he seem happy about anything?"She became angry and almost shouted,"Aren't you listening to me!? I obviously don't know anything about this!"
Sebastian looked to you and smirked. Ciel raised his hand at the woman, and announced,"I've heard enough, then. Thank you for your cooperation." She stormed out the kitchen quickly.
"Well, ___?" Ciel asked. "What do you think?"
"Well, there's no way in telling she's saying everything truthfully." You told him your thoughts.
Sebastian picked up conversation. "And if she was lying, she's most likely hiding something about Mister Edwards being happy."
You agreed with that. "There's something she's not willing to talk to us about it. Maybe if there's an employee that doesn't like her all too much, we can find out what."
"We'll have to butter them up first. Sebastian, I'll leave that up to you as soon as we find an employee like that." Ciel ordered.
"Oh? Your butler's a social butterfly, is he?" You giggled. "He's barely spoken, so he hasn't struck me as so."
Sebastian smirked and said,"Miss ___, you have quite a lot of learning to do." He leaned in closer, seductively whispering to you. "If you want, I can show you everything there is to know about me." The way he emphasized the word 'everything' gave you chills down you spine and rushing blood to your cheeks. It looked like Sebastian was reaching for your chin, but Ciel cleared his throat loudly. You know that demons like to play around with people's feeling, yet your knees couldn't help but feel a little weak.
Grell opened the door to let in the next suspect in for interrogation. You snapped back into reality. The next suspect was a middle aged man, which Grell stopped guarding the door for. He was obviously grinning with lust as he followed him into the kitchen. The suspect sat down on a couple of boxes next to a refrigerator. He looked a little pissed off.
Ciel began to ask questions, "First thing's first: Was there any suspicious activity in the restaurant or with Chef Edwards in the past month?"
The man shrugged with his arms crossed. He spoke fluently in slang. In fact, he probably doesn't even know proper English. "I dunno.. Didn't notice nothin'. I come in here day after day with hundreds of faces and no pay raise to follow. What's it gonna do for me, jus' talking to the Queen's guard dog? It don' give me no paycheck, and yous definitely not no policeman, so it ain't illegal if I keeps me mouth shut. I better, too, 'r else the misses'll throw me out. That crazy hag never did like authorities."
You whispered to Ciel, making sure the suspect didn't hear you, "He's perfect for some 'buttering up'. He wants to impress Miss Acton so he can work for more money, but he certainly doesn't like her. You should tell Sebastian to work his magic."
