Jean looked around and couldn't help but admire how fast time really flies. Banners adorned the walls, the table was set and the closest people were seated around the table in the dining room of the packhouse. Eric's parents and sister, Jean's team and Dean were present for the big day.

The table filled to the brim, as everyone had come to celebrate the triplets first birthday. Jean stood over by the wall and watched how people mingled, the sight making him nostalgic of the past. Having three children at once was exhausting. One could decribe it as always missing one pair of hands. Yet Jean and Eric had been blessed not only with the children, who were currently seated at the end of the table, surrounded by their family, but also with their temperament. They could be a hassle, but sometimes also just as sweet and caring.

"Dad!"

Jean was shaken from his memories as Nicolas ran over, shouting his name. The little boy threw himself into his dad's arms which resulted in a lovely giggle, as Jean spun him around. The rascal took his dad's hand and pulled him into the crowd. When Noah and Alexia spotted him, they too ran over just to welcome their dad, who they hadn't seen for some time. Eric soon joined and laid an arm around his mates waist - eyes filled with pride as he watched his little family.

As the hour progressed, Dean came forward with a small teenage girl hiding behind him. Jean met Dean's eyes and immediately knew what had transpired. Dean had found his mate. A young petite girl on the outside, but a real firecracker on the inside. Jean couldn't help but smirk, as Dean was knocked down a few knotches.

The day slowly came to an end, everyone left and the children was put to bed. Eric and Jean then sat alone in the living room of their apartment, sitting in a loose embrace. A small yet loving kiss was exchanged as the two of them remained in their own world - covered by each other's warmth.

At the wee hours of the day, Jean awoke with a gasp. The nightmares which haunted his sleep was either far away or close at hand. Jean couldn't help but sigh, as he got out of bed and walked to the bathroom. Cold water splashed over his face, as he tried to wash the nightmares down the drain. Jean lifted his head and looked into the mirror, his eyes couldn't stop watching the falling waterdrops as they slid down his face. In a trance like state, Jean felt arms tighten around him as his mates warmth passed throught the clothing.

Turning around, Jean laid his head upon Eric's shoulder. Neither needed to talk, as both of them had an understanding from the previous times before. A ritual was created as the two of them just needed to be reminded of the present to slowly let go of the past.

After a period of time, three small knockes sounded. As Eric opened the door, three unruly bedheads were revealed, yet were soon replaced with sparkling eyes. The triplets had gotten tired of waiting and instead went to pester their parents to hurry up. The clever children flashed innocent smiles to hide their intention. Jean almost couldn't hold his laughter back, as he saw through their act, yet decided to say nothing. Instead choosing to follow the three out of the bathroom with Eric in tow.

Jean was currently sitting outside with the triplets as the pack members ran tracks around the pack house. They had planed to take the children out, but Eric had to leave as something urgent came up. Not that Jean minded, he was lucky to spend more time with his three angels.

Looking into their exquisite eye color, Jean felt feelings of love overwhelm him. Who would have thought that he could be this lucky? The triplets were laying between Jean's legs; giggling and playfighting. Jean turned his view away from the triplets, when the pack members had gathered in front of him, wanting to be instructed on the next course of training. He nodded in satisfaction and was about to get them started on pull ups, when a yelp was heard.

Jean raised a perfect eyebrow and looked down at his three children only to find three bundles of fur. Gasping at the sight, Jean got his babies attention and they all jumped on top of him; yelping and licking him all over his face The pack members were staring in awe and astonishment, because even if they were children of the alpha, shifting this early was unheard of.

Jean let out a heartfelt laugh, informing that the topic of training had to wait, as he shifted into a pure white wolf. His fur shinning in the sun making it look as if it was made of silver. The triplets were a sight of their own; Nicholas being a black werewolf with vibrant silver eyes, Noah also taking after his brother's silver eyes and being coated in black fur, except for a white outline around his neck – almost looking like a necklace. Opposite of the boys, Alicia was pure white, with an outline around her neck in a golden color, which her eyes also reflected.

The sight of the four was enchanting. It was almost like something out of a fairytale. The family began running around the field, playing and having fun. Jean was suddenly brought to the ground by a black wolf and licked his mates fur in greeting. Eric moved away when he saw their small children, waking towards them and giving everyone a lick on their forehead. They all yelped and jumped onto their father; biting his ears and playing with his tail.

The little family was left alone to play as all the pack members gave them their privacy by entering their houses. Hours went by and the sun was setting. Jean was lying in front of Eric; their heads upon or under the other. A small yawn sounded between them and Jean raised his head to tug Noah further into his stomach, licking the three before looking into his mate's eyes.

It was getting late as Jean and Eric picked up their sleeping children to put them to bed. The parents just couldn't help themselves, as they stood at the door and watched the three bundles rise and fall.

After a while, the two of them softly closed the door and returned to their own room. Eric walked to the bathroom and soon asked: "Do you remember where I left the extra batteries for the toothbrush? I can't seem to find them."

Jean rounded the corner and looked through the cabinet, without any luck, only to remember the small room connected to their bedroom, which they used to store things.

"Wait a second, I'll go take a look."

Jean walked to the door, opened it and turned on the light. The room was fairly big and a lot of stuff had piled up over the years. Jean went further in, as he began moving things around to find the batteries. Jean found what he was looking for but happened to drop one on the ground. The crisp sound of the battery landing upon the floor followed by the sound of rolling filled the quiet room. A second later another crisp sound appeared, which made Jean frown in confusion.

Following the path left on the slightly dusty ground, Jean arrived at the destination where the batteries trip came to an end. Picking it up from the ground, Jean's eyes caught sight of a dusty wheelchair parked in the corner. Having almost forgotten about it, Jean couldn't help, but feel something nostalgic. This was the wheelchair, which helped him through the worst time of his life. Something that not only resembled agorny, but also hope. Fingers glided softly across the handels almost like a caress. Knowing that he had passed that part of his life, Jean couldn't help but kiss the tips on his fingers and place them on top the backrest. A small peaceful smile painted across his face.

"Did you find the batteries?"

Eric's voice travelled through the door opening as Jean gave a respons. Before leaving Jean cast an extra look at the wheelchair, and walked through the door. Not only leaving the past behind, but also stepping forward into the future.
